About Christopher Bernard Allen
Christopher Bernard Allen started playing the Slide Trombone in the 6th Grade. Then, the following year, he played the Slide Trombone in the high school marching band from the 7th Grade until his enlistment in the United States Air Force. Where he played the Valve Trombone in the Drum and Burgle Corp, during Basic Training.
Christopher Bernard Allen was originally born in the South and was heavily impacted by the activism of Dr. Martin Luther King’s crusade for civil justice. When he was only 12 years old, he performed a marathon of Dr. King’s speeches at multiple events and church services spanning three counties in one day. Dr. King’s legacy of leadership and political activism inspired Christopher to seek political office while in college. He was a pre-med major but found time for activism because of the urgency and outcry of students’ unrest. During his time in college and as Student Government President, Mr. Allen managed to lead several on-campus protests, demonstrations, executive-leadership ad-hoc meetings, as well as a legendary student walkout. During his presidency, Mr. Allen sought and achieved more just conditions for students.
Today, Christopher Allen is a seasoned healthcare professional with more than 20 years in the medical arena. Christopher’s passion for positive change for Blacks in America is stronger now than ever before as we confront issues of health equity, food insecurity, and assaults on basic human rights. Mr. Allen aims to serve the Black community by galvanizing the minds, hearts, and aspirations of the next generation of social activists and influencers through the art of music and socially conscious speeches.
