Today, we have the pleasure of Interviewing Huy Truong Nguyen Tran, professionally known as Trunxks Beatz. He is an indie music producer/beatmaker from Southern California.
Please introduce yourself and tell us about what it is that you do.
I’m a music producer from California, specializing in dark cinematic instrumental. My credits include Enkay47, Dax, Ekoh, etc. You can catch my first official beat tape on Spotify titled “The Trunxks Tape.”
Can you please tell us more about your journey?
I started making music in sophomore year of high school after a teacher introduced me to music production software. I just fell in love with the art form itself. The ability to create something from scratch is a high I can’t explain. From there, I started to slowly make a buzz for myself within the industry, working with various artists from Enkay47, Crypt, Chvse to Twisted Insane.
Please tell us about your company.
I started trunxksbeatz.com to give underground and upcoming artist accessibility to lease my music for a small fee. Anything ranging from 20 to 300 dollars. I’ve had the site for 4 years now, and going very strong.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Just work work work. Every day I try to make at least one instrumental just to keep the creative juices flowing. Even if it’s bad, I try to make one just to get the bad ones out of the way to make room for the good ones to come.
