Nick Degomme, the founder of Degom Marketing shares his entrepreneurial journey

Today, we are interviewing Nick Degomme, the founder of DEGOM Marketing.

1. Please introduce yourself and where you work.

Currently, my role in the company is to oversee the day to day Marketing for the company and Management of our clients. My day-to-day consists of figuring out ways to increase our company’s traffic and lead generation. As well as keeping constant contact with our team in order to increase work efficiency. I love every minute of it!

2. How did you get introduced to digital marketing, and how are you improving it?

We did outbound marketing to acquire clients for some time in the early days. We found ourselves constantly having to explain the value of digital marketing services, and it was very tiring. Eventually, we decided we wanted to figure out a way to get a more qualified client. Someone who already understands the need for what we offer and just needs some extra help. We decided that if someone is literally searching for the services that we provide, then they must have a good understanding of what it is and the value it brings. We honed our own pay-per-click campaigns and started to use SEO more.

3. What are the services you provide to your clients?

Nick-Degomme-company

We are gradually becoming a full-service spot for digital marketing services. Our services line up includes social media marketing, SEO, SEM, content marketing, blogging, website design, and online consulting services. We are always expanding and finding new ways to help our current and future clients!

4. Who are your role models?

I have a bunch of people I love to learn from. Mark Cuban is probably #1. Especially a young Mark. His entrepreneurship and drive to succeed in everything he did still motivates me to this day.

5. What would your advice be to people who are looking to take up digital marketing as a career choice?

Nick-Degomme-pic

My biggest advice would be to continuously learn and start a project that you have never done before or are weak at. Consider starting a blog on your favorite hobby that requires a social media account, video, SEO, content marketing, and design strategy. Take it seriously and see if it’s something that you enjoy doing. This way, you are able to determine if digital marketing is a great career choice for you. Most importantly, have fun with it, it’s an amazing career.

6. What inspires you?

A huge factor of my inspiration is the love I have for the work I do, as cheesy as that sounds. Helping our clients on a day to day bases and really connecting with them and seeing their business grow. This is one of the reasons why I started DEGOM Marketing to assist in marketing efforts and connect in the B2B space.

7. What’s your greatest fear?

That’s an easy one – To fail. Of course, failing is a tremendous factor for personal and professional growth, but I hate it. I am sure it has to do with my competitive nature.

8. Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

This is a deep one. My patience and learning to follow through on what I wanted to accomplish. I was a very impatient person before creating DEGOM Marketing. Building a business from scratch definitely builds your patience level! Like a lot of novice entrepreneurs, I tended to not follow through on everything I said I would do. I immediately changed that mindset and practiced to follow through on everything I set to do. This is probably one of the most important factors of success.

9. What keeps you going when things get tough?

Leaning on the loved ones is a great tool I use when times get tough. The mentality is #1, I’m sure any entrepreneur can agree. Dwelling on a tough time will never result in any positive outcome. Getting back up, figuring things out, and being grateful for the little things are great aid tools.

10. Any message for our readers?

If you’re a business owner or entrepreneur and even someone that has an idea they want to create or do. Do it, or the next person will! Find some motivation and make little tasks every day that help you get where you need to be. Rome was not built in a day.

11. How can people connect with you?

If you head to our company Instagram or Facebook page, I tend to browse through our messages, feel free to send me one!
