Popular Soundcloud Rapper KD shares his musical journey

Today, we are interviewing Soundcloud Rapper popularly known as KD. Let’s find out about his exciting musical journey.

1. Please tell us something about yourself.

I can’t sit still. I’m the type of person that always has to be doing something. I’m either working at my job, creating, or finding another way to keep myself busy because I can’t be sitting in one place doing nothing for a long time. 9 times out of 10, I’m either working or making music.

2. How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?

I took a class in college, actually. It was called “Rap and Spoken Word.” It was just like how it sounds. We studied the origin and culture of hip hop and how it became to be what it is today. We would get writing assignments where we’d actually have to write bars, and I got so into them. Our final assignment was to write a mini song (16 bars and a hook), but I was so into it, I went way past 16. And I just never stopped writing and continued to grow and eventually became who I am today.

3. Who are your role models?

I definitely have a wide range of role models from Mac Miller to Lil Wayne to Kanye West, The Notorious B.I.G., Eminem, Andre 3000

4. What inspires you?

I try to be as creative as possible when I make music and use different sounding lines, so whenever I hear an obscure word that I’m not familiar with, well, I get familiar and try to incorporate it in some bars. Just trying to be abstract and think outside the box.

5. Please tell us about what you do.

I bring energy to my music that most people aren’t familiar with. Or maybe they’re familiar with it, but they’re not used to seeing it from someone like me. I go all out with everything I do, and every time I get off a stage, people are always telling me about how crazy my energy is.

6. What’s your most memorable experience?

One time my nose started bleeding on stage while I was performing. But you know what they say the show must go on. My manager and the host of the show were grabbing napkins off the bar so I could plug my nose. By the time my set was done, the stage was covered in bloody napkins, but I just told them I drip too hard I couldn’t help it. That just goes to show how hard I go when I perform, I straight up put my blood, sweat, and tears into this. No cap.

7. Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?

You can find me everywhere on social media @broitskd. I’m mostly on Instagram and Twitter, promoting my next releases, when my next shows are, etc. I post in my Instagram story all different types of things going on throughout my day. But you can find anything, and everything music related to me on my social media.

8. What’s your greatest fear?

That one day, I care too much about what people think, and I start basing my actions because of other people. I hate hearing stories of someone holding themselves back because they’re afraid of what they’re parents or friends might think. I listen to myself and myself only.

9. Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

One thing I wish I understood – The business side of music. I had no idea how it actually worked until after I graduated from college, I could’ve been making more moves.

10. What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

The three P’s: Patience, Pride, and Persistence. Know that it’s gonna be a long ride, but if you stick with it every day, and stay true to yourself, it will work out how you want it to.

11. What keeps you going when things get tough?

Keeps me going – Trust in the process. If today isn’t the day that blows me up, then tomorrow is always a new day with a new opportunity. I just keep my head up through it all.

12. Any message for our readers.

This is your life. It’s not your parent’s life, it’s not your teacher’s life, it’s nobody’s but yours. Do what you want with it. Don’t have doubts, don’t have second guesses, don’t hold yourself back.

13. How can people connect with you?

I answer all my DMs on social media, don’t be shy hit me up! I love meeting fans and appreciate any love they send my way.
