Young Q-Dogg’s Est 1987: A Story Told Through Sound
On August 20, 2025, Young Q-Dogg unveiled his new album Est 1987. It carries twelve tracks filled with grit, melody, and purpose. Available across major streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music, this project feels like a personal diary delivered in rhyme and rhythm. Each song offers a glimpse into his journey, from early struggles to the place he stands today.
A Deep Look at the Album
Est 1987 unfolds like chapters in a life story. The opening track, “Better Get Yours,” sets the tone with its raw urgency. It’s followed by “As Real As It Get” featuring Mirataen, where authenticity takes center stage. “Faded” with Jae Mack is about smoking marijuana, while “Beautiful Sky” shifts the mood with hope and upliftment.
Listeners then encounter “How I Get Here,” a track that questions the winding road of destiny, and “Hustle Forever” featuring Jay-Dogg, a declaration of relentless drive. “Lawless Territory” highlights his bold mindset, while “Ring the Bell” strikes like an anthem of victory. “Maintain” and “Gotta Speak My Mind” showcase resilience and honesty, traits that define Young Q-Dogg’s music. “Slap tf out (On Edge)” adds intensity, before “Transition” closes the album with a message of growth.
Every title feels intentional. The sequencing creates a rhythm that mirrors life itself: moments of tension, reflection, energy, and eventual release. Fans can expect more than beats and rhymes here. They’ll find lessons, confessions, and motivation woven into each verse.
The Man Behind the Music
Young Q-Dogg, born Daqwon Hughlett on July 8, 1987, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has been immersed in music since childhood. He sang in his elementary school choir at the age of eight, and by eighth grade, he was performing his first self-written rap. His love for music never faded, and it became more than a pastime. It became survival.
Growing up in a tough neighborhood with limited resources, he faced challenges that could’ve pulled him down. Instead, he turned to writing, producing, and performing as a way to rise above his environment. That outlet kept him focused and helped him dream of a different path. Over the years, he grew into a multifaceted artist: songwriter, engineer, producer, and performer.
His journey hasn’t been easy. He admits to past mistakes and shares them openly. Rather than hiding his struggles, he brings them into his art, hoping to inspire others who face similar situations. His philosophy is straightforward: anyone can succeed if they’re willing to work hard and push forward.
A Vision Beyond the Music

Back in 2006, Young Q-Dogg founded his label, Lawless Victory Entertainment (L.V.E.). For him, “Lawless” isn’t chaos. It’s a philosophy. He breaks it down as “Live at will, Love every special surrounding.” It’s about embracing life fully and cherishing the people and moments that shape it.
This perspective echoes through his music. His lyrics balance toughness with soulful melodies, creating songs that resonate on more than one level. He isn’t only talking about hustle and survival. He’s painting pictures of transformation, growth, and the possibility of change.
Through Est 1987, he invites listeners into his world. It’s personal, sometimes painful, but ultimately uplifting. His message to younger generations is clear: mistakes don’t define you. How you respond to them does.
Why Est 1987 Matters

For fans of hip hop, Est 1987 offers more than catchy tracks. It gives a real story told with honesty. Young Q-Dogg combines his smooth sound with visual, heartfelt lyrics that capture both the beauty and the harshness of his experiences. The album feels like a conversation with someone who has lived through storms and now wants to guide others toward brighter skies.
Listeners will walk away from this project with more than just music in their playlists. They’ll carry pieces of his life story, lessons about perseverance, and proof that growth is possible in any circumstance. With Est 1987, Young Q-Dogg isn’t only sharing music. He’s offering motivation, vision, and a soundtrack for anyone who believes in second chances.
