The Rise of Wedding Wellness: Sharon Valentine and VALS Consultancy Lead a New Era for Brides-to-Be

Finding Calm in the Wedding Chaos

Weddings often bring a mix of joy, love, and overwhelming pressure. While the vision of a perfect day inspires excitement, the journey to reach it can quickly turn into a maze of endless checklists, emotional highs, and stress-filled conversations. Sharon Valentine knows this world inside out. As a Wedding Wellness Consultant and founder of VALS Consultancy, she dedicates her work to helping brides and wedding professionals protect their peace, reconnect with joy, and prevent burnout during one of life’s most demanding seasons.

Her approach is rooted in compassion and lived experience. Sharon understands the unique stressors that surround weddings because she’s been on both sides of the aisle. She brings warmth, wisdom, and gentle guidance to those who feel caught between expectations and the reality of daily life.

A Journey Built on Experience

Before stepping into her role as a consultant, Sharon worked as a wedding planner. Sharon ran Valentine Weddings UK, an international wedding planning business she founded in 2009. She managed timelines, vendors, and countless details, while also seeing the emotional toll such planning could take. Even with her professional background, she discovered how overwhelming the process could feel when she became a bride herself. The pandemic brought that chapter of the wedding planning business to a close in 2020. And two years later, her life shifted again when she navigated widowhood, an experience that reshaped her perspective.

This personal chapter gave Sharon resilience and emotional depth, as well as a renewed purpose. She realized that many brides and professionals were quietly carrying immense weight behind the smiles and celebrations. From that realization, VALS Consultancy was born, offering a softer, more human way to move through wedding planning. Sharon blends logistical insight with a deep understanding of emotional well-being, making her support both practical and heartfelt.

Tools for Gentle Support

At the core of Sharon’s work is her Gentle Reminders Series™, a collection of resources designed to help people ease into planning without losing themselves in the process. It begins with a free guide, the Start Gently Guide, which lays out simple steps for protecting emotional balance right from the start. This resource is available to download at valsconsultancy.co.uk/start-gently.

But Sharon’s guidance doesn’t stop with a single tool. She provides one-on-one support sessions, digital well-being resources, and tailored strategies for individuals worldwide, as long as they’re English-speaking. Clients describe her work as grounding, supportive, and a reminder that their needs matter too. Whether someone is organizing their own wedding or guiding others professionally, Sharon’s focus is on creating space for peace and balance.

Her mission isn’t about perfection or ticking every box on a list. It’s about slowing down, reconnecting with joy, and remembering that this chapter of life is meant to be meaningful. Through her tools and sessions, clients feel seen and validated. Instead of drowning in expectations, they walk away with renewed clarity and confidence.

Why Wedding Wellness Matters

Wedding planning is often painted as pure fun, but anyone who’s been through it knows the hidden side. Sleepless nights, disagreements, financial pressures, and constant decision-making can create burnout long before the big day arrives. Brides may lose sight of their own needs, while professionals risk emotional exhaustion from carrying the weight of multiple clients.

Sharon’s work highlights that well-being deserves as much attention as the flowers or the venue. She reminds clients that their mental and emotional health directly shape how they experience the journey. A calm and supported bride enjoys her day more fully. A balanced professional serves clients with greater patience and creativity.

In an industry that often prioritizes image over wellness, Sharon’s voice stands out. She encourages a culture where rest, balance, and personal joy are just as valuable as any wedding detail. Her work serves as a gentle invitation to slow down and approach planning with heart instead of haste.

Reconnecting with Joy

Weddings symbolize love and new beginnings, but the process should feel enriching, not draining. Sharon Valentine brings this perspective to every bride and professional she works with. Through VALS Consultancy, she champions a kinder way of planning—one where peace is protected, emotions are honored, and joy takes center stage.

Her journey from planner to consultant, shaped by both celebration and personal loss, has equipped her with the empathy and tools to support others. With her Gentle Reminders Series™, private sessions, and digital resources, she continues to guide people worldwide toward more balanced experiences.

For anyone entering the whirlwind of wedding planning, Sharon’s message is simple: you don’t have to lose yourself along the way. With the right support, the season can be filled with clarity, calm, and lasting joy.

We had the privilege of interviewing Sharon Valentine. Here are excerpts from the interview.

Hi Sharon, it’s great to have you with us today! Please share about yourself with our readers.

Hi, I’m a Wedding Wellness Consultant and the founder of VALS Consultancy. I support brides and wedding professionals across the world with emotional well-being tools, burnout prevention, and gentle planning strategies. Through calming resources, private sessions, and digital downloads, I help people reconnect with peace during what can be an incredibly stressful season of life or business.

Please tell us about your journey.

I’m a former wedding planner who experienced first-hand how overwhelming planning can become — even with industry experience. I was once a bride myself, but later found myself navigating widowhood. That journey reshaped everything. It gave me the resilience, compassion, and emotional depth I needed to help others protect their mental well-being during life’s most pressurised moments.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

After that deep personal loss and witnessing how stress affects both couples and professionals, I shifted my work toward emotional support. VALS Consultancy was born out of love, empathy, and the belief that no one should lose themselves to pressure or perfection. I now focus on helping others feel seen, heard, and supported, whether they’re planning a wedding or rebuilding their life.

Any message for our readers?

Planning a wedding or building a business doesn’t have to cost your peace. If you’re feeling stretched or emotionally burnt out, you’re not failing — you’re human. There’s space for joy, stillness, and clarity even in life’s busiest chapters. My work is here to remind you of that, and to support you wherever you are in the journey.

Thank you so much, Sharon, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
