A Personal Response in a Critical Moment
Dr. Otaku typically avoids mixing politics into his art, preferring instead to focus on storytelling, gaming culture, and technological innovation. However, the recent re-election of President Trump and the intensified anti-immigrant policies enacted by his administration struck a deeply personal chord, prompting Dr. Otaku to channel his feelings into his latest EP, ‘No Nos Vamos.’
With family roots extending to Colombia and Chile and close ties to immigrant communities across the West Coast, the current political landscape stirred a sense of urgency in Dr. Otaku. This EP serves not only as artistic expression but also as an assertive statement advocating for immigrant rights and challenging oppressive rhetoric through music.
Songs Rooted in Genuine Expression
Tracks like ‘I.C.E.’ and ‘You Are American’ directly address immigrant experiences in America, emphasizing that those who’ve spent decades contributing to their communities belong here. Utilizing AI-generated vocal ensembles—such as ‘La Migra’s Kids’ and ‘Nomad 95’—Dr. Otaku crafts powerful bilingual messages.
In ‘Elon No Como Nosotros,’ Dr. Otaku takes direct aim at Elon Musk through a satirical parody of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us,’ highlighting Musk’s contradictory immigration stance. ‘Trump Played You’ uses satire to critique President Trump’s manipulation of conservative voters, addressing exploitation by political figures.
A Unique Blend of Tech and Musical Authenticity

Musically, ‘No Nos Vamos’ merges modern digital production with vibrant cultural influences. Using MIDI controllers, Ableton Live, and meticulously curated instrument samples, Dr. Otaku creates authentic instrumentation digitally—including his beloved accordion. His deliberate use of the accordion symbolizes creative authenticity, independent of mainstream trends.
His AI-generated vocals blend seamlessly with digital arrangements, creating complex sonic landscapes emphasizing innovation and cultural storytelling.
A Bold Closing Statement

The EP concludes with ‘Forever Hold My Piece,’ explicitly flipping Second Amendment rhetoric back onto pro-gun conservatives. Dr. Otaku emphasizes that immigrant and liberal communities equally value peace and their right to defend it. The track’s irony and assertiveness encapsulate the EP’s confrontational yet human message.
Authenticity Above All Else
For Dr. Otaku, ‘No Nos Vamos’ represents his determination to create personally and politically resonant art without compromise. He encourages authenticity, stating: ‘Never comply creatively—make your art authentic and genuinely for yourself.’ The EP is proof that music can be both a personal outlet and a powerful social statement.
We had the privilege of interviewing the Music Artist. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Hi, please share about yourself with our readers.
Hi, I’m Dr. Otaku—just a boring otaku with fun hobbies. By day, I’m deep into the tech world, working with data centers, AI programming, and innovative digital tools. But when I’m not in front of the screen solving technical puzzles, I’m composing music, developing indie games, and running my YouTube community, TIKI TECHA, where I combine my love for music, gaming, and cutting-edge tech.
Please tell us about your latest EP.
My latest EP was born from addressing recent political events, especially the intensifying anti-immigrant policies under the current term. It blends West Coast rap and barrio Latin hip-hop, featuring unique AI-generated vocal ensembles. Tracks like “I.C.E.” and “You Are American” highlight the core message: immigrants who’ve built lives here belong in America. The EP also includes satirical tracks such as “Elon No Como Nosotros,” a parody of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” and “Trump Played You.” The closing track, “Forever Hold My Piece,” flips Second Amendment rhetoric to reinforce that peace is sacred—and we’ll defend it if necessary.
Please tell us about your journey.
My journey started with rigorous classical music training—recitals, formal concerts, the whole deal—at UNLV. But everything shifted the moment I discovered how deeply computers and technology could intersect with music. I became instantly hooked on Ableton Live, and from there, things evolved rapidly. Today, I’m fascinated by blending classical composition techniques with digital innovation, including AI-generated vocals. Over time, music became my storytelling outlet and an artistic playground, allowing me to explore deeper themes and express what I feel genuinely passionate about.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
The most important strategy for me has been authenticity. My best work happens when I create art I genuinely care about, even if it’s outside my comfort zone—like this EP. Secondly, embracing technology, particularly AI and hybrid production methods, has allowed me to carve a unique niche. Lastly, building a genuine community through platforms like YouTube has created meaningful relationships that continually inspire my creativity.
Any message for our readers?
Never comply, especially creatively. Make your art free, genuine, and for yourself first and foremost. I use the accordion—a deeply unpopular instrument—regularly in my music simply because I love it, and I honestly don’t care if anyone else does. The moment you stop worrying about pleasing others or fitting in is the moment your creativity truly becomes powerful.
Thank you so much, Dr. Otaku, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
