Celebrating Yourself and Living Authentically

Many women find themselves lost in the hustle of daily life—juggling careers, household responsibilities, relationships, and parenting. Queen emphasizes the importance of pausing amidst the chaos to reflect inward and prioritize oneself. She poses a thought-provoking question: When was the last time you curated an experience solely for yourself, leaving no detail untouched and fulfilling every desired outcome?

The book acts as a blueprint for readers to identify what they truly want out of life and encourages them to pivot whenever necessary to achieve a more fulfilling existence. It’s about breaking free from societal expectations and embracing a life that feels genuine and rewarding.

A Journey Guided by Witty Advice and Personal Stories

Queen’s writing style feels like a heart-to-heart conversation with a close friend over coffee. She shares raw personal stories and no-nonsense advice, making the process of self-discovery feel both significant and approachable. The book tackles central questions about identity, aspirations, and the often untargeted paths that lead to unfulfilling lives. More importantly, it provides clear, step-by-step guidance on how to answer these questions and implement changes.

The inclusion of journals and small assignments keeps readers engaged and focused on reaching the endpoint: becoming the version of themselves they deserve to be. Queen is there every step of the way, offering support like a friend holding your hand through life’s challenges.

We had the privilege of interviewing Carmen Queen. Here are excerpts from the interview.

Hi Carmen, It’s great to have you with us today! Please share about yourself with our readers.

A businesswoman of 20 years specializing in public speaking, a former franchisee, and an MBA candidate, I have built a successful career in marketing and psychology, specializing in knowing exactly how to deliver information to wide audiences that motivate, either in sales or life goals. I love nothing more than speaking about these types of things and building an audience from the ground up. I am now shifting my focus from the business and speaking world to the world of self-help and am looking to make a lasting impact on people, as I believe we all have a rendezvous with destiny.

Please tell us about your book, Be You. Do You. For You.

In language that feels like the reader is sitting across the coffee shop table from a friend, we tackle the central questions of who we are, what we want to be, and why we wind up in ultimately untargeted and unfulfilling lives–and, critically, how exactly to answer them. I incorporate stories from my own life and insightful journal entries and make an impossible process feel both hugely important and immensely simple. Step-by-step guides and blueprints help readers form a mission statement and blueprint for their lives and follow the reader as a companion through every step of their life turnaround. In the end, the reader is transformed into who they were born to be—or at least, they’ve begun that journey. And these pages are right there with them like a friend, holding their hair back when it gets tough and holding their hand through the rest.

Please tell us about your journey.

A little hood, a lot of universe. Embracing the unexpected of a developmentally disabled brother, abandonment of a parent, obstacles seemingly insurmountable and handed to me before I could even walk. Turning those obstacles into opportunities. Faking it until I made it. Letting go where I could. Realizing what I DO want in life as opposed to what I SHOULD want. Defining who and what I am, not what society told me to be. Befriending my flaws and utilizing my strengths. Creating a mission statement for my life. Of what my story was going to be, not allowing for the circumstances to define me.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Formulating a blueprint of my life. Who am I? What do I want to be? What are some areas of opportunities for me? Knowing those elements and going after exactly that. Elements that aren’t that? Simply letting them go and moving on. Comprising small and impactful goals for myself that compound over time, ultimately leading to larger self-fulfilling goals. Doing things that scare me for the betterment of myself. If I fail, that’s ok. I tried, but it is still a win. Looking in the mirror, being proud of who I am, knowing who I am, and on days not so much? Holding myself accountable.
