In her compelling new release, Victorious Jesus: Supreme Teacher & Non-Violent Rebel With a Cause!, author Mya A. Chavis invites readers on a profound journey to rediscover the multifaceted life and teachings of Jesus Christ. This work goes beyond the traditional narratives, portraying Christ not only as the savior but also as an influential teacher and a revolutionary figure who advocated for non-violent resistance and radical love.
A Fresh Perspective on a Timeless Figure
Chavis’s book delves deep into the essence of Jesus’s life and ministry, shedding light on his role as a teacher and a non-violent rebel who challenged the socio-political norms of his time. Victorious Jesus explores pivotal aspects of Christ’s teachings—such as love, compassion, and forgiveness—that remain profoundly relevant in today’s world. The book is inspired by notable influences, including Franz Kafka’s thematic complexity and the simple yet profound narratives of biblical stories. Chavis’s narrative is enriched by the insights of musical legends like Johnny Cash and Simon & Garfunkel, whose soulful explorations of human emotions echo through her portrayal of Jesus.
Drawing from her deep personal faith and extensive biblical knowledge, Chavis presents a Jesus who is both divine and relatably human—someone who experienced anger, sorrow, and joy and used his life to demonstrate the power of resistance without violence. The book not only revisits well-known biblical events but also highlights lesser-known moments that underscore Jesus’s revolutionary methods of teaching and leading.
A Journey Through the Gospels with Mya A. Chavis

Victorious Jesus is structured to guide readers through a spiritual and introspective exploration of Jesus’s actions and words. Each chapter of the Book focuses on different attributes or episodes from Jesus’s life, from his sermons and miracles to his strategic interactions with both followers and detractors. Chavis uses these episodes to reflect on broader themes of justice, redemption, and the transformative power of faith.
This approach allows readers, whether seasoned in their faith or newcomers to biblical teachings, to gain a deeper understanding of why Jesus’s message was so radical at the time and how it continues to resonate in modern contexts. Chavis’s writing encourages readers to reflect on their own beliefs and the societal norms they encounter daily, challenging them to consider what a truly lived faith looks like.
Embracing the Legacy of Non-Violent Rebellion
In Victorious Jesus, Chavis emphasizes the concept of non-violent resistance, a principle that has influenced countless leaders and movements throughout history. By aligning Jesus’s teachings with this principle, Chavis presents an image of Christ as a proactive leader whose strategies can inspire today’s movements for social justice and peace. She articulates how Jesus’s example offers solutions to contemporary issues, advocating for a return to principles of compassion and non-violence in a world that often seems dominated by strife and aggression.
Chavis not only narrates these historical biblical events but also interprets them through the lens of modern-day challenges, making Victorious Jesus a significant resource for understanding enduring spiritual truths and their applications to personal and societal problems.

During quiet, While I was alone, praying and fasting, I was moved by the Holy Spirit to write ‘Victorious Jesus’ as a means to not only explore the gospels but also “spiritually reconnect” with Jesus Christ in a deeper and more intimate level. Being moved to go beyond traditional cliche interpretations of Christ’s teachings and highlight His timeless, priceless, “authoritative kingdom knowledge” on love, compassion, repentance, forgiveness, healing, and justice. I became particularly moved by Jesus Christ’s affirmative’ embodiment of “non-violent resistance and compassion and repentance” regarding His life, ministry, unmatched adoration for women, and dealings with religious hypocrites. My intent is to display how Jesus’ revolutionary message of hope, redemption, salvation, healing, and justice not only set captives free but showered restorative hope to the lost, sick, and demon-possessed.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Staying humble, not selling my soul for fame or riches, and understanding that my gifts are essentially a call from God and not a “Quick cash Payout” for 15 minutes of fame. I write for the love, the art, and the lives I touch through the powerful messages I convey that are worth reading. Do what you love, and it never feels like work,
