Lawrence is a Chicago-born filmmaker, author, and U.S. Army veteran who served from 1990 to 1998. He graduated as salutatorian from Full Sail University and has spent more than fifteen years working as a director, writer, producer, and editor.
Through Deep Production Studios LLC, Lawrence has developed horror projects and character-driven dramas. His credits include the feature Tobias: Dark Hallway, the dark comedy Pieces of David, and the animated horror feature To Your Last Death, for which he served as co-executive producer. Pieces of David was selected for the Black Harvest Film Festival and received a Black Excellence Award nomination. The Smell of Blood is his debut novel and the beginning of an ambitious series.
