A Cat Like No Other
Everyone knows that cats have a mysterious air about them, but “That’s Why the Cat Did That” takes that allure to a whole new level. Written by S. Lee and published by CheeFreedomPress, this playful children’s book stars Jet Li, a quirky feline who has seemingly lived through more adventures than anyone could imagine. Whether he’s toppling a vase or snubbing a fancy cat bed in favor of a simple cardboard box, Jet Li’s antics aren’t just random; they’re the result of his many past lives spent in fascinating places around the world.
The story doesn’t just appeal to little readers. Thanks to its humorous tone and charming rhyme scheme, adults can’t help but be entertained as well—especially those who share their homes with a cat. From ancient civilizations to modern detective work in London’s foggy streets, Jet Li has done it all and is more than happy to share each escapade in this delightfully illustrated book.
Adventures Across Time
One of the book’s biggest draws is its imaginative use of history. Picture this: a cat who has lounged in the sun beneath the pyramids of Egypt, ruled a palace in a far-off kingdom, and even prowled around solving mysteries in old-time London. Each page offers a window into another era, giving kids an easy way to learn about different cultures without feeling like they’re stuck in a history lesson. Instead, they’re turning the pages to see what Jet Li does next—does he knock over a cup in the middle of a royal banquet, or does he surprise the pharaoh by sneaking into a treasure chamber?
These historical stops are sprinkled with humor and whimsy. Children get the fun of a creative adventure, and parents can share gentle lessons about geography and culture along the way. It’s a conversation starter that effortlessly combines storytelling with a bit of education. After reading about Jet Li’s escapades as a guardian cat in a hidden temple or a jester in a medieval court, kids might just say, “Now I understand why my cat acts so regal sometimes!”
Learning Through Laughter

S. Lee’s style of writing encourages curiosity. Kids love the bounce in each rhyme, and cat lovers of all ages appreciate the playful way feline antics are explained. Teachers will find that “That’s Why the Cat Did That” can be a light-hearted addition to classroom discussions. Imagine bringing a little plush cat into storytime, then asking students to guess which historical period Jet Li might visit next. The book opens the door for lessons on ancient civilizations, travel, and the quirks of cat behavior—like that ever-persistent fascination with boxes over expensive beds!
Humor is the glue that holds it all together. From silly puns to catchy rhymes, the text is designed to spark a smile on every reader’s face. It offers a refreshing twist on typical children’s stories by showing how a cat’s current-day mischief can be linked back to some hilarious or heroic chapter of his past. After all, who wouldn’t laugh at the idea of a cat being a court jester? Or imagine a cat playing detective in the foggy streets of Victorian London?
Parents, too, find it amusing to see everyday cat behaviors explained in such an out-of-this-world way. It makes for excellent bedtime reading, as both grown-ups and children eagerly flip through the bright illustrations and giggle at the lengths Jet Li goes to stay true to his adventurous spirit. And if a youngster ever asks, “Why did our cat do that?” parents can respond, “Must be from one of his old lives!”
About S. Lee and CheeFreedomPress
