It took a lot of courage for her to share her story!! Meet Severine Desrosiers, Author of ‘The Path to Resilience.’

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Severine Desrosiers, Author of the non-fiction book ‘The Path to Resilience.’

Hi, please tell us about what it is that you do.

I work in Finance during the day and write at night.

What inspired you to write the book, The Path to Resilience.

I felt I had a story to tell and therefore decided to finally put pen to paper about 2 years ago. I always felt my life was like a roller coaster with many unusual ups and downs. Writing this took some courage to talk about what the Immigration system can be like in the US. This book addresses racism, loss, and finding one’s inner strength to keep going.

Synopsis:

In search of the American dream, young Severine and her French-Haitian family move from France to the United States. They quickly discover success comes at a high cost, and when tensions around immigration rise, Severine is forced to leave the life she knew behind. A once successful student and pageant queen is now left to battle on Paris’s cold streets while dealing with unbearable cruelty and overwhelming loss. It is a touching memoir of a world citizen surviving life and all of the hardships it can throw at you.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Finding time to actually write, motivating myself to do so. Scheduling procrastination because we all need a break from time to time.
