The Magic of Dewy Shines in Book ‘Title Goes Here: Adventures in Foolishness’

Foolish Adventures That Keep You Guessing

Have you been craving something aberrant? Dewy’s book Title Goes Here: Adventures in Foolishness is exactly that. It’s not a straightforward story. It’s a guided trip into absurdity, peppered with unusual styles, curious storytelling, and a touch of mischief. This isn’t a work that sits quietly on the shelf. It leaps out with strange ideas and takes readers through an unpredictable ride of imagination, humor, and sharp observations.

The structure itself feels like a puzzle, shifting between poetry, short stories, and spells that seem both whimsical and oddly useful. At every turn, readers are reminded that the theme is foolishness, but it’s a foolishness with purpose. It’s a chance to laugh, reflect, and maybe even scratch your head in surprise.

A Path Paved With Peculiarities

The book begins with existential poetry, opening the door to thoughts that are quirky yet oddly sobering. Dewy tackles topics as peculiar as the real cost of watches or the possibility of ghosts, weaving words that are both playful and reflective. Readers who dive into this section may find themselves laughing one moment and pausing to think the next.

From there, the collection shifts into four short stories. The moods vary dramatically. Some tales bring lighthearted chuckles, while others tread into darker territory, carrying a weight that lingers. Dewy even signals that one of the stories is bleak enough to merit a warning. This range of tone gives the book an unpredictable rhythm that keeps readers alert and engaged.

The final section leads straight into magic, and here the playful side of foolishness shines. Dewy writes original spells that explore ideas like invisibility, summonings, and immortality. While the concept of spellcasting may seem purely fictional, these pieces offer commentary that feels grounded and surprisingly practical. It’s a way of inviting readers to treat fantasy as a lens for looking at everyday life. By the end, the book fulfills its mission. It makes readers more foolish, but in the best sense—more curious, more open, and more willing to embrace the unexpected.

A Voice That Breaks the Mold

One of the book’s charms is its refusal to settle into one genre or voice for too long. Instead, it carries an offbeat rhythm that never lingers in a single place. For readers who enjoy literary unpredictability, that’s a gift. The experience is similar to shifting from one strange carnival tent to another, each with its own odd attraction.

Dewy’s style has been compared to works like Everything (Abridged) by Dennard Dale, which shares a quirky narrative approach, and Douglas Adams’ The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, which delights in its thought experiments. Yet Title Goes Here feels distinctly its own. The humor, the risks, and the structure combine to create something personal and original. It’s a book for anyone who enjoys being surprised, whether that surprise takes the form of laughter or introspection.

Meet the Mind Behind the Madness

Behind all of this stands Dewy, a NYC-based author with an eclectic background. She trained as an attorney and worked in corporate bankruptcy and finance before taking a break for family planning and transition. Her life in New York is filled with music, adventures, and a creative spirit that pours into everything she does.

Outside of writing, Dewy plays bass in her band, performs in projects like Hazbin on Broadway on YouTube, and develops new series such as Nonya, Bietz & Waxxe LLP. She also hosts monthly tarot readings and serves as The Radio Demon in Residence at RPM Underground. For readers who want more of her voice, her blog and newsletter at dewy.nyc provide an ongoing peek into her world.

Her many passions, from law to music to acting, shape her storytelling voice. That blend of experience makes her work unpredictable, layered, and full of personality. With Title Goes Here: Adventures in Foolishness, she invites readers into a world that refuses to play by ordinary rules.

Why Readers Should Dive In

This book isn’t about following a neat path. It’s about letting go, stepping into oddities, and discovering joy in the unexpected. The mix of poetry, short fiction, and magical experiments creates a reading journey that resists being pinned down. It entertains, but it also challenges the idea of what a book should look like.

For those ready to embrace foolishness in all its glory, Dewy has created something memorable. Title Goes Here is a reminder that literature can be playful, strange, and delightfully human all at once. Readers may finish it shaking their heads, laughing, or maybe questioning their own assumptions. That’s part of its charm. It lingers, it entertains, and it proves that foolishness has its own kind of wisdom.

We had the privilege of interviewing the author. Here are excerpts from the interview.

Hi, it’s great to have you with us today! Please share about yourself with our readers.

Hi! I’m Dewy. I do quite a few things. Today, I’m here to chat about my new book, Title Goes Here: Adventures in Foolishness. It’s an eclectic collection of poetry, short stories, and spells. But I also keep a blog and newsletter at dewy.nyc and am working on a new series called Nonya, Bietz & Waxxe LLP (you can check the pilot out for that at nonyabietzwaxxe.com/pilot). I’m also Alastor and Charlie in Hazbin on Broadway (a YouTube series) and The Witch of Times Square.

Please tell us about your journey.

My formal training is as an attorney. One of the conditions of working at a large firm is that you have to sign away your right to do pretty much anything that could remotely implicate the firm, such as publish or write externally. Normally, they keep you too busy for that to really matter. But eventually, the creative buildup got to be too much. So I started publishing under a name that meant a lot to me. It started as various essays and other more explanatory projects; I was always quite comfortable publishing those kinds of things. Then, one day, I wrote and published my first real poem. It felt like a completely different part of me was on display. From there, creativity flooded. Indeed, some of the book took poems and short stories from the blog, further refining them and making them the best they could be.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Continuing to put one foot in front of the other has so much power. As long as you keep coming back to something, it will get done. We are conditioned to think of things in grand gestures when that is rarely how anything gets accomplished. The largest things are done a few pieces at a time over a long period.

Any message for our readers?

Stay foolish! The smartest path is rarely the most fun. And, at the end of the day, which would you prefer?

Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
