Kristiana Jorge, Preschool Teacher with Dyslexia & ADHD from Chicago shares her inspirational life story.

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Author Kristiana Jorgea Latina millennial female with ADHDShe is dyslexic and is also a preschool teacher. Her story inspires others to go after their own aspirations! Especially those that come from a similar background as her.

She teaches preschoolers by day and pens free-verse poetry by night(and during most of her lunch breaks). As a mental health advocate, she is on a mission to help women who struggle with mental illness themselves through the power of poetic storytelling. An aficionado of the macabre and Edgar Allan Poe’s haunting writing style, it’s no surprise that her debut book is titled ‘Haunted Houses.’ In a year’s time, she will release book number two: ‘Constant Conclusions.’

When she isn’t pouring her soul out onto paper, you can find this ambitious poetess binge-watching scary movies, riding around DuPage in her Vespa, or capturing whimsical moments through a camera lens.

Let’s get started with the Interview.

Great to have you with us today! Please tell us about what it is that you do.

I am an author. ‘Haunted Houses‘ is my first book, and I am a pre-K teacher.

Can you please tell us more about your journey?

I have always wanted to be a writer since I was a little girl. I have been diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and several other learning disabilities. I came from a working-class family in Chicago. After losing my brother to an abusive stepfather, and surviving abuse as a child, I have learned to cope with my trauma by writing. It has led me to write this book.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

My strategies are to write what you know.

Kristiana-Jorge
