Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Judith Formul, a Scientist, an Explorer, a Traveler, and an Entrepreneur.
Please tell us something about yourself.
I was born and raised in Florida. I like to joke that I have lived my life within a 50-mile radius, from birth to the schools, to colleges and now as a professional. My parents are immigrants from Haiti with a dream of a better life. I like to believe that my siblings and I are walking proof of that dream coming to fruition.
How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.
I am a YouTuber. My tag line is “Scientist by day. Dream chaser by night.” I create videos on my varied interests. I do commentary, product and location reviews, and reactions videos to some of my favorite shows. One of them being Naked and Afraid XL on Discovery. I started Youtubing from January of this year, 2020. I remember reading a piece of news about the kid (Ryan from Ryan’s Toy Review), making $27 million from YouTube. He was 7 at the time. I hear random stories all the time about random people doing random things and making a fortune. For some reason, that one story got to me. I read it and immediately thought I could do that!!! So I started to do post videos. It began as a way to make money but quickly became a creative outlet that also happens to yield some notoriety and income.
Who are your role models?
I feel like this answer is cliché, but my mother is at the top of the list. She has this subtle strength that is a force to be reckoned with. Oprah is another one. An unbelievably successful black woman who accomplishes these massive feats like her talk show, her channel, her school in Africa. But she also to seems to be really grounded in her spiritual beliefs and the huge role that a power greater than herself plays in her life.
What inspires you?
I feel like boredom inspires me. The moment I start to feel bored, I get this jolt of inspiration to do either do something different or do something better. That has led me to travel to over 20 countries and live 3 different lives so far. Today I am living the life of an entrepreneur.
Please tell us more about what you do.
The name of my brand is The J Formula. I am a content creator and marketer. I mainly create content on my YouTube that is rapidly gaining mainstream exposure. I also work with companies like Home Depot, Lowes, and Target to evaluate some of their services. I am also launching an online store later this year.
Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?
I have used Instagram, Facebook, and Google Ads to promote my brand and my YouTube channel. So far, Instagram has yielded the most traffic. I think Instagram is more versatile. It gives me access to a bigger group of people with more variety, all from a hashtag. And I have one central, easy find location that links people to my channel.
What’s your greatest fear?
My biggest fear is giving up before the magic happens.
