We had the pleasure of interviewing Youssef Semaan, Operations Manager at Lift Mart Elevators and Escalators LLC, Dubai, UAE. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Hi Youssef, Great to have you with us today! How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.
Hi, I started my journey in the elevator and escalator industry as an intern at Lift Mart Elevators and Escalators LLC. During that time, I gained valuable hands-on experience and developed a deep fascination for the mechanics and engineering behind these vertical transportation systems. As I continued to work hard and showcase my dedication, I was given opportunities to take on more responsibilities within the company, eventually leading me to my current position as the Operations Manager. It has been a rewarding journey of growth and learning.
What is unique about the work that you do?
What sets my work apart is the unique opportunity to be involved in transporting people on a daily basis. Elevators and escalators are essential components of buildings, and they play a significant role in ensuring smooth and efficient movement of individuals and goods. Being able to contribute to the safety, convenience, and comfort of our customers is truly fulfilling.
Who are your role models?
My role model is my father. He has always been a source of inspiration for me, displaying unwavering determination, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to excellence. His guidance and support have shaped my professional and personal values, and I strive to emulate his qualities in my own career. He has been a guiding light in my personal and professional career.
How do you build a successful customer base?
Building a successful customer base requires establishing strong rapport and providing exceptional service. At Lift Mart, we prioritize understanding our customers’ needs and delivering tailored solutions that exceed their expectations. Building long-term relationships based on trust, reliability, and quality has been crucial to our success. Networking is everything.
What made you choose your current location?

We also engage in offline marketing initiatives such as participating in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to raise awareness about our business and build connections within the industry.
To what do you attribute your success?
I attribute my success to my relentless drive to achieve my goals. I am willing to put in the necessary effort, make sacrifices, and forgo immediate gratification to ensure long-term success. I believe in constantly pushing myself beyond my limits, embracing challenges, and continuously improving my skills and knowledge.
What motivates you?
What motivates me is the opportunity to make a positive impact and contribute to a better and brighter future. I am driven by the desire to create meaningful change, both within my industry and in society at large. Additionally, the ability to give back to those in need on a mass scale is a powerful source of motivation for me.
What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
My favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur is the freedom it provides. As an entrepreneur, I have the autonomy to make decisions, pursue my passions, and shape the direction of the company. The ability to chart my own course and have control over my work is truly liberating and fulfilling.
If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be?
If I were to give one piece of advice to someone just starting out, it would be to work relentlessly and passionately toward your goals. Success rarely comes easily, and it requires dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to overcome obstacles. Additionally, it is important to approach your work with love and passion. When you genuinely care about what you do, it becomes easier to stay motivated and find fulfillment in your entrepreneurial journey.
