Style Muse Tama Leia shares her inspiration behind her namesake label

Tama-Leia

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Tama Leia, CEO of French & US born Luxury Brand, Tama Leia Luxe.

Hi Tama, Great to have you with us today. Please share your journey with us.

Ever since I was a young teenager, I had ambitions to create my own company and have my brand, but I didn’t start building on the idea until 2019. That’s when I started going to lots of fashion shows. At that point, I had just started with my jewelry line. And although I mainly started with gold rings and necklaces, it eventually expanded to clothes.

Please tell our readers about your brand, Tama Leia Luxe.

My company cares a lot about helping others and giving back. I feel very fortunate that I am able to supply so much work to others. When I realized how many people I am able to help give jobs to, it created a whirlwind within in me to expand so I could continue to help them. I have built life-long friendships with the people around me. Together we are building something very special.

I’ve been quite influenced by the cities I’ve visited. I draw inspiration from so many places: magazines, films, art, music, museums, architecture. I love exploring new cities and learning about the culture. I always notice how people are dressed, their mannerisms, slang words, cuisine, and an all-around sense of style.

I love the classic, sometimes modest style, but I also am drawn to all kinds of avant-garde pieces that are hopelessly impracticable. I like them for art purposes, but I am a practical person at heart, so I had to hold back a little when it came to creating my collection because I would sometimes get inspired in the middle of the night and wake to start drawing a huge dress that would have a 9 feet long train made of extravagant silks and tulle fabrics.

I settled on luxury sweaters and longe-wear. My collection is very polished-looking but still very wearable.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

One of my most successful actions has been taking the time to study and learn new things every single day. It’s been a lifelong habit that has transpired into creating the most important developments in my career.

There’s a book I love called “The Problems of Work,” written by philosopher L. Ron. Hubbard. The book is so beautifully written and fun to read. The words and solutions from those chapters resonate with me. I refer to it often to help me with anything I run into for my company.

Any message for our readers.

For anyone trying to build their brand or expand their influence, I would say some of the best advice I have ever gotten is to make yourself known. Talk to people. Don’t focus on what you will get, but focus on how much you can give. Be generous. Be interested in people.

Be thorough but work smart to speed up the process. Every day you are either moving closer toward your goal or moving farther away from it, so keep creating each day to close that gap and make it a reality.

For me, I realized that if I want to have a successful company, I have to be very hands-on. I want to be part of every step of the process.

I am always learning and always willing to step in and help with anything that is needed.

Fantastic! So tell us, how can people find out more about you?
