What inspires you?

My Inspiration in life is to help empower women to have the bravery & courage to show up as themselves & to keep a reminder that we as humans, as individuals, are enough just as we are. My career background is in Business & communication studies with a focus on marketing. At 12, I was making lemonade and selling it in front of my house with my sister! Ha-ha, I really have a business streak, and I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart. Giving back, whether in business or in the community, is what excites me and really keeps me going!

What would be the best advice(s) you could give to a woman who wants to go where you are?

Never say never, and never give up. If you have an idea in mind, go for it and follow through with it! In addition, you should not hesitate to step out of your comfort zone because that is when you learn and evolve. It’s not easy to start a business, but you have to manifest and really believe in yourself!

How do you practice self-love and kindness?

Selflove and self-care all start with self-kindness, humanity, and embracing my own reality. Embracing my natural self, loving my body the way it is, accepting that it’s okay to not be okay sometimes, it’s okay to cry, and knowing that as long as I am true & authentic with myself, I’m going to be okay. Sometimes, I may disappoint other individuals around me, but I will never disappoint myself. Perfectionism is incapacitating, it’s exhausting, and it’s boring to me personally. I don’t want to be addicted to something that isn’t real. There’s so much more to life than spending time worrying about things that aren’t true or how perfect things can be. Don’t get me wrong, I can be a perfectionist sometimes, but I try to limit myself to perfectionism; I think of it as if it’s the best I can do.

What is your life philosophy? Your mantra or your way of thinking?

I want to positively influence people by changing the world in my own way! Instagram, to me, is so much more than followers and likes. I often talk about the bullying I’ve experienced, bickering from friends, mental health, in short, about real life! My motivation is to receive private messages from girls who tell me that I helped them get out of a difficult time. I wish I could talk to myself when I was 15. I tell myself, today, I want to be the model I needed at the worst time of my life. Someone who, despite her scars, is happy & healing! I’m a very open-minded person; my friends often tell me that I’m the least judgmental person they know. I come from a multicultural family with a lot of diversity, and I’m proud of it. I think keeping an open mind allows you to see a much more colorful and captivating word.

What are some rituals you practice to remind yourself that you are enough?

I’m not entirely sure if it’s a ritual or not, but therapy is my GO-TO. Therapy has REALLY helped a lot! Simply expressing how I feel with an unbiased person has helped a ton in understanding myself and how I tend to think of things, etc. Also, talking to myself when I’m cleaning the house & repeating some of my top favorite affirmations to myself out loud has been really impactful, a powerful and positive impact on my life. We have to lead with love & kindness. Not only towards others but to ourselves as well. My husband taught me how to trust my judgement and my intuition; if something doesn’t feel right to me, then it’s probably not right. He taught me not to be a follower but a leader. To NOT follow the sheep & do what everyone else is doing, be your own wolf & embrace your imperfections because they make you who you are; they make you, YOU.

Fantastic! So tell us, how can people find out more about you?

Follow me or don’t; totally up to you! My Instagram is @heyimleks & the same goes for the rest of my social channels!

Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
