I am a passionate business owner working very hard in the last few years to realize a lifelong dream of being self-employed.
How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.
I started my journey as an Engineer and worked for several years. In my mid-30s, I went back to college and decided to get another degree and work in the healthcare industry and have been doing so for the last 11 years.
I got tired of both the demands of working odd hours and working paycheck to paycheck and its toll on my family. My children were struggling in school and needed intervention. Last year, I finally got tired of it all. I started to pursue my dream of being self-employed. I decided to open an online store, hoping that it will give me the much needed time for my family.
What inspires you?
My inspiration is my sister. Despite facing many challenges in life, she still remains very hopeful, positive, and never gives up.
Please tell us about your company.
I have an online E-commerce retail store called “Drip Coffee Treats.” It is an online store where we sell unique items for both Coffee and non Coffee lovers. It’s a family-owned online store, and my whole family is involved in the store’s daily management.
What’s your most memorable experience?
My most memorable experience was how I felt when we had the first sale.
Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?
For us, Facebook is the best platform to advertise our product using targeting ads, e.g., location, age, gender, and interest.
What’s your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is losing faith in what I believe.
Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?
I wish I knew how challenging it will be to set up the online store. There were so many things I didn’t know about setting up an E-commerce store despite attending webinars, reading books, having a paid mentor. There were so many things I had to learn fast.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
My strategy to become successful is to never give up, no matter how hard the situation is. The worst thing in life is looking back and regretting not having the courage to try new ideas, and even if it fails, you can still try again until you succeed.

My faith keeps me going when things get tough.
