Please tell us something about yourself.

Hi, I am a very friendly person. Optimistic and Brave. I am an entrepreneur, willing to take risks and jump all in.

How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.

I was born and raised in California. But moved to Arkansas to attend high school and college where I married and had children and ended up in Kansas City, Missouri. This time in my life, my older children were leaving to attend college, and life was calling me back to California. So I sold EVERYTHING and moved back. It just was meant to be because my grandmother was really suffering and needed daily help. During this time, I did not know my destiny but thought I should start my career over. I was an interior designer in KC, and the housing market crash really did put me out of business. So I (like all smart people in the world, GOOGLED, what can I do to make the most money, without a college degree?). Google said: Insurance broker so, I went for my broker’s license in Property and Casualty Insurance, worked for 2 years, and made 3,000 total. At this point, I was willing to do anything to make money, so I went to the Bank of America and asked the teller how much money was in my account. She said 14.01, I said, give me $13.00 I went to office depot and made flyers and ordered business cards. Got a bit of Gas in my car and started going to offices of Doctors in my area, leaving flyers saying “We Can Help Home Services,” and that is how I got started! I got one call right away, then I had 4 clients, then I got caregivers to help me, then It kept growing and growing! Now I am the owner of Senior Care Home Services Inc.

Who are your role models?

Role models come from women I listen to like Denise Duffield-Thomas, Kate Northrup, Mel Robbins, and the old gang Oprah! I am lost with-out all these ladies and their wisdom.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by a complete start-up. This is my 7th business. I love making something out of nothing at all. Absolutely from the bottom up!

Please tell us about your company.

Senior-Care-Home-Services

My company is caregiving in the client’s home. Our job is to take care of people, so they never need to go into a “old folks home”. We do it all for them. I say we do what the daughter would do. And they say, Not my daughter! She won’t do anything!.lol We take care of the clients so that they are well fed with healthy food combinations. Hydrated and listened too. Our caregivers are really amazing people. Loving and patient.

What’s your most memorable experience?

Senior-Care-Home-Services

My clients are memorable. I have seen love letters from the 1940’s, asking her to marry him.

Which social media channels work best for promoting your work?

Facebook, Alignable, LinkedIn. Advertising who we are and what we do with the phone number.

What’s your greatest fear?

I think its closing and not being able to sell it when its time to retire. Or losing my mind because it’s so hard sometimes. LOL

Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

The need for a team. I didn’t have a team because I couldn’t afford help. I still struggle with that decision.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Senior-Care-Home-Services

Probably the best strategy is never giving up. I love this job, and I enjoy helping people, and that means the clients AND the caregivers. I want to empower both of them.

Any message for our readers.

If it were easy, Everyone would do it. It’s not easy, but you don’t have to be perfect either, so don’t beat yourself up for mistakes. You are human, move on.
