‘The Forgotten God’ by Author Michael Allen offers a thrilling blend of sci-fi and fantasy

The Forgotten God is a thrilling blend of sci-fi and fantasy, centered around a group of teenagers, an amazing discovery of an old, forgotten god, and the experience of becoming famous on social media. Author Michael Allen creates a spellbinding story of excitement and discovery.

Ava discovers a buried altar, an altar dedicated to an unknown god. Being a teen in the modern digital age, she shares her discovery on social media and earns a bit of fame but also personal growth. Morgan, alongside her friend, chases the same clout and hope to replicate Ava’s success, but their adventures quickly turn into misadventures and a change in Morgan’s life that she might not have anticipated.

However, the discovery of this altar for a forgotten god sets off a chain of events nobody could have predicted. The girl who discovered the altar in a difficult situation awakened a god, one who others would like to keep asleep even a thousand years after the Nordic deities first started their slumber.

The forgotten god, Forseti, wakes up in a world entirely alien to him, with no resemblance to the one he left behind. Now he has to piece together the events of the past and find a way to move forward into the future.

Michael Allen is a fan of many things, describing himself as a serial hobbyist who loves sci-fi and fantasy, mythology, RPGs, and historical fiction. He is based in New Jersey and adores spending time with his family. Allen began SthenoType to get out stories into the world, including his own stories and those of other people. The Forgotten God is his debut novel, which is certain to lead to more stories from this author.

The Forgotten God is not just the debut for Michael Allen, it is also the debut of his publishing imprint SthenoType, an enterprise that attempts to help people share their stories and overcome the many barriers of entry for people who want to show their work off to the world. SthenoType tries to provide rising artists with everything they need to publish and put their best work in front of people: the necessary equipment and software, the services of an artist and an editor, an ISBN, and a barcode. SthenoType will also work with a distributor to ensure that the book is sold at major retailers and reviewed by big-name reviewers. The experience is centered around the author and is meant to be friendly and welcoming for the creators from the get-go and overcome the many entry barriers for emerging artists whose voices might otherwise go unheard and unrecognized.

The Forgotten God will please fans of influencers and fantasy as well and might interest those looking for a genre blend and an exciting narrative.

You can learn more about the book and the author on the SthenoType website. While this is already starting, it promises a lot as well, and readers can look forward to new books from Michael Allen.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Michael Allen. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Hi Michael, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about yourself.

Hi, I live in New Jersey, work in management, and decided it was finally time to get some of the stories I’ve had floating in my head out in case anyone else might like to hear them.

Please tell us about your book, The Forgotten God.

The Forgotten God tells the stories of a few characters. Ava is a teenage girl who stumbles upon a buried altar to an unknown god and experiences some notoriety and personal growth after she reveals it on social media. Morgan and a friend chase the same social clout, and their misadventures lead to her own life being altered. Forseti, our forgotten Norse god, awakes to a world that doesn’t resemble anything he knows, and he has to piece together what has happened and how to move forward.

Please share with our readers about your journey.

I’ve always loved fantasy and sci-fi stories. We had kids young, and I spent years climbing the corporate ladder, which took me away from being able to indulge as much. Now that life has settled in; I’ve been able to play tabletop games, write stories, and read all I’ve been missing. I’ve also realized that many of my friends have similar ambitions and looking for an outlet, which is why I started SthenoType, a publisher, to help get those stories out as well.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Forcing myself to be unaware of my own shortfalls. If I had listened every time, I wondered if anyone would enjoy it, if the story made sense, if the characters were compelling, or if any other imposter syndrome thoughts made their way in, I’d never have gotten here. My strategy was to just write; if it’s no good, it doesn’t have to ever see the page, but keep writing and get the first draft down, then work it from there.

Any message for our readers?

I hope you enjoy the story. If you do, please tell your friends and leave a review; it helps so much.

Fantastic! So tell us, how can people find out more about you?
