Sherria “Devine Diva” Perry was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Port Huron, Michigan. Mother of five published books, author of She She, playwright, poet, and community event planner, founder of Devine Purpose Youth Group ( DPY), Domestic Violence Survivor, and Believer in Jesus Christ! Discovered her love and passion for writing words of inspiration during a time of deep depression in 2012 where she wanted to end her life. She often tells the story of how God and the pen changed her life. 1st book She She (When She learned to dance in the rain God blessed her double for her pain) in 2013 through ASA Publishing. Wrote and produced stage play 2012-2016, A Faithfilled Christmas, Season’s Change in 2018; the first show was sold out, and there was standing room only.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Sherria Perry. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Hi Sherria, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers what inspired you to start writing.
Hi, I needed a way to release the depression that I was sunk in! It was at that moment ten years ago in my bedroom where I was balling my eyes out and not knowing how to deal with life that God was so gracious to give me a new meaning to my life! I wrote everything on a notepad in my room without overthinking; I just was free writing, and when I was done, I read it back, and I feel as if the Holy Spirit spoke to my soul and said that this writing was not for me but to share with the world so many can heal! I saw a vision of the tree of life and its divine connection to the main source, God almighty. That day he showed me that my stage babe Devine represented my divine connection to him!
My life has never been the same. I was given purpose, glory by God. I felt as if I could live again. And that was the beginning of my writing and using the writing platform to display the goodness of God in the hope of lives changing! I recommend journaling to anyone because it’s a great positive coping mechanism and a way to release some of the emotions you feel inside! I really enjoy reading and writing pieces that will inspire and encourage others!

I have to be reminded to put my Faith over my fears. I’ve learned to surrender and have the peace to endure life’s shortcomings.
If you have struggled with fear and doubt and no longer want it to run your life, this book is filled with 30 days of my favorite scriptures, affirmations, quotes, journaling, and BONUS six biblical principles to a successful life to inspire you that no mountain is too tall for God. All he has to do is speak to that thing! Life is tough, but You Got This! Remember, there’s life and death in the power of the tongue, so speak life into existence through the Scriptures and affirmations, and watch God change your life! I pray that you’re encouraged to go through every day with the power that has been granted to you through the Holy Spirit, which leads you to all truth! The truth is that you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you! God is Not a god of limitations but possibilities! I’m just saying our Heavenly Father created and owns everything! I pray that this book inspires you to live out your destiny and purpose, knowing that you can!

What are the things you struggled with writing this book?
This was my very first time working with graphics! I wanted to learn and practice my graphic skills to create beautiful illustrations to add to my poetry and words. It was a struggle. I looked at plenty of YouTube videos and TikTok on how to do this. I wanted to test myself not to give up so easy, and with dedication, I finally finished my first ebook!
