Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Patrick Ratchford, a Successful Speaker, Author, and Renaissance Man.
How did you get into what you do right now?
Due to dozens of business lessons(failures), I lived off 20 % of my income and saved the rest so that I could walk the beach in peace & write from time to time.
Who are your role models?
Role models, Sure, I admire Presidents, Actors, musicians, business leaders & other world leaders throughout history. Still, in reality, I admire just the individuals that I cross paths with in life from time to time who are living their truth, be it a career, family, business, relationship, or a cabin in the woods with a hammock swung between two palm trees on the beach. If they’re living their truth, I admire them. Because so many of us are not living our truth, I stop & admire those that are…
What inspires you?
The next satisfying goal, big or small, it is gratifying to check them off a list. And, more importantly, clearing the brain clutter-fog that comes with not getting things done. Otherwise, they just sit in your head for days, weeks, months & for some, unfortunately, years or lifetimes.
Please tell us about your books.
There are multiple Books and Audio CD’s:
Living Life to its Fullest
The Start of Something Big
What’s your most memorable experience?
The most memorable experience was riding Elephants in Thailand & playing & sleeping with Tigers while I was there.
Which social media channels work best for promoting your work?
Facebook & Instagram (Rekopchamp). The name has poker spelled backward, it is one of my favorite past-times, and chess a close 2nd.
What’s your greatest fear?
Forgetting to consistently live in the present, not the past or future, but in the present moment.
Learn from the past? Yes, Plan for the future? Yes.
Truly live in the moment. From your waking moment, whether it be exercising, enjoying a meal, drinking a glass of water, petting a dog, or gently looking at someone in the eye while talking. Simply enjoy the moment in all things…so I fear to forget that reality & simplicity.
Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?
The value of saving & not just spending …
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Goal setting, both short-term, and long term, overcoming procrastination, Exercise, and Meditation, has helped me.
What keeps you going when things get tough?
Remembering past positive experiences in life.
Any message for our readers.
Live your truth, because for each of us its different, not everyone needs to be a trillionaire. If your truth is being a great friend, brother, uncle, aunt, sister, father, mother, landscaper, dentist, beauty queen, business person, athlete, entertainer, mall clerk, uber driver, simply live your truth. Whatever it may be and where ever it may take you.
