We had the pleasure of interviewing Dale O. Garrett, Author of ‘My Name is 201.’ He has been an author since 2014. Dale is also a retired police officer and taught the D.A.R.E. Program to thousands of children in his community during his career in law enforcement.

Hi Dale, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about your book, ‘My Name is 201.’
Hi, I’m a retired police officer and professional corporate comedy magician. My book is a collection of the struggles and experiences I faced as a police officer while moonlighting as a magical entertainer. It’s full of not only the dangerous and life-threatening moments I faced during my career but some of the hilarious jokes and pranks I played on some of my fellow officers.

What inspired you to start writing?
The book’s story begins when I was a young boy of seven years old. That’s when I began to develop my goals to pursue not one but two careers. I hit some road bumps along the way but pushed through those challenges to achieve my goals. I hope that people who read my book will not only be entertained but inspired by my journey.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I would say that the biggest strategy I employed to succeed in my journey was persistence. Pushing through adversity and being laser-focused on what I wanted to achieve.
