Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Jim Marshall, Author of Septemics: Hierarchies of Human Phenomena: Analysis, Prediction and Management of Human Affairs.
Mr. Marshall is a polymathic scholar and autodidact who has devoted over 50,000 hours to the study and practice of multiple dimensions of human potential and development. After receiving a classical education as an honor student at a Jesuit Military Prep School, he was accepted into engineering school while still a junior in prep school and attended college on academic scholarship. He graduated college with a Bachelor of Science cum laude. While still an undergraduate, he began the study of “alternative” Arts and Sciences, which today would be described as Transformational and Holistic. Eventually, he became a professional practitioner and, after 28 years of formal education, started his own practice as Human Development Engineer. Jim has integrated the best aspects of the most advanced techniques on the planet and expanded their limits with his own Research & Discovery. He has successfully treated and/or trained hundreds of clients over a 40-year career. Jim is the inventor of Septemics and several consciousness-expanding systems. His areas of expertise include psychology, philosophy, theology, parapsychology, science, engineering, mathematics, law, literature, history, metaphysics, military science, political science, metaphysics, physical culture, and music.

Hi Jim, Great to have you with us today! Please tell us about your book, Septemics: Hierarchies of Human Phenomena: Analysis, Prediction and Management of Human Affairs.
Septemics is a philosophic system based on the fact that many phenomena related to Human Beings occur in a sequence of seven levels. Literally, the word “septemics” means of or pertaining to seven. Septemics is based on a collection of scales or sequences, each of which breaks down many human phenomena into a hierarchy of seven steps. At this writing, there are thirty-five such scales, which span the spectrum of human experience.
Whether or not these sequences are communicated clearly, or explicated eloquently, the scales themselves are correct. In other words, the sequences described by these scales correspond exactly to nature. Opinion or belief has nothing to do with it. These strata manifest in nature exactly as stated, whether or not we take note of them. Septemics is not a theory; it is a statement and codification of empirical facts written down so that you might be able to use them. Whether you learn them or not, these phenomena still exist as an inherent aspect of humanity.
The purpose of Septemics is to empower one to understand and consequently master The Game of Life by affording one a system by which one might better analyze the characteristics and behaviors of groups and individuals in various situations and contexts. The practical use of a philosophic approach gives one the patterns of life-as-we-know-it in a wide variety of applications. As with any other tool, some persons will be better able to apply it than others, but it is intended for use in real-life situations by anyone intelligent enough to understand it and wise enough to use it.
Can you please tell us more about your journey into becoming a polymathic scholar?
I was a born polymath. I have no memory of a time when I was not intensely interested in learning every legitimate subject, meaning everything taught in every university. I was shocked at the age of ten to find out that some children did not like school. I learned how to be a very good student and devoted myself to learning a wide cross section of subjects, at the intersection of which is Septemics.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
The strategies that helped me become successful are ensconced in Septemics. If you read the book, you will see what they are. It took almost 87,000 words to summarize this in the book, so there is no concise answer other than obvious bromides like working hard.
Is there any age where it may be too late in life to read a book like Septemics?
The short answer is, “No.” However, if old age causes a person to suffer from senility or dementia, that would be an obvious barrier.
Is there any age where it may be too early for the younger audience to understand and grasp the principles of Septemics?
Yes. This is a book for adults. Even most college students today would have trouble comprehending this book.
What other ventures or activities are you currently involved in?
At this point, I am busy promoting and disseminating Septemics.
