Christian Zamora shares the journey and inspiration behind his latest book ‘The Legacy of Sparta.’

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Christian Zamora, Author of ‘The Legacy of Sparta.’ He had published the Spanish version of the book in May 2020 and recently has translated it into English.

Please tell us more about your journey.

I was born in Alicante and raised in Alfaz del Pi. Without having been able to graduate thanks to my hardhead and bad studying habits, that were non-existent. However, my mother’s efforts to make me acquire the habit of reading paid off; when at 25 years old, I decided to read my first novel on my initiative, Aretes de Esparta by Don Lluis Prats. I liked it so much that I kept reading other authors on similar subjects with enthusiasm, like Don Valerio Massimo Manfredi or Pedro Santamaria Fernández. I enjoyed their work so much that I decided to do something similar. Even though I don’t think this novel lives up to these illustrated masters in wisdom, I hope I captured some of their essences.

To be honest, it took me a long time to finish the book as I left it aside for a long time to attend to other obligations. It has really been a very interesting journey in which I have been able to get to know myself better and discover my facet as a writer. I feel satisfied that I finished this novel and happy that I published it. This is a triumph for me.

Please tell us about your book ‘The Legacy of Sparta.’

The Legacy of Sparta’ is about an adventure that will allow us to better understand the world of the Spartans, their way of thinking and understanding the world.

I have been quite impressed to see the reaction of several people who were delighted with the book, to such a degree that I have been encouraged to continue with this pleasant hobby.

Check out some of the rave reviews that book has been receiving:

My 5 stars are because he hooks his way of narrating from the beginning, and you keep reading, wanting to know more. I have read many historical novels, and not all of them give me that feeling. This book absorbs you from the first page itself. I love the well-documented historical part and the charming character Dzeta. Well, I leave you to continue reading …

The undoubted connection between the Roman and Greek worlds is evident in this work through characters whose destiny is intertwined in a story that captivates.

Good immersion in the culture that Sparta came to have within the Greek world. Provides a close view through characters that do not leave you indifferent. Extremely interesting is the interrelation with elements that would lead to the creation of a new empire

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

To be honest, there was no strategy. It all started as a method to evade certain circumstances that were around me and could not change. And then, slowly, I felt the passion and desire to continue writing.
