Author Meredith Baldwin weaves an engaging narrative in ‘Gabriel: Angel in Training’ which is full of spiritual literature, fantasy and drama

Gabriel: Angel in Training is the new Spiritual Young Adult fantasy release from author Meredith Baldwin. The book offers a meaningful story, an exciting world rooted in spiritual ideas, and plenty of positive messages for young adults.

The story centers on the death of Gabriel, the eighteen-year-old young man who becomes Angel Gabriel and acquires a unique opportunity. While his loved ones, the Mexican-American Esperanza family, struggle to find meaning in his death, Gabriel is introduced to angels and to the world of heaven. He has the opportunity to come back to Earth a few months after his passing, armed with the angelic aura of light power, which empowers him to attack the negative and build the positive.

Gabriel has to help his pregnant sister, who needs to announce the news to her family, the baby’s father, reticent, and his girlfriend, who is finding comfort after her loss in alcohol and meaningless relationships. Gabriel encounters demons and battles them, as he also becomes friends with his brother’s fiancée, a medium who can still speak to him even in his new form. But that brings its own set of troubles as the fiancée cannot keep the secret from the brother and must choose who she must lose, whether her new best friend or the man she is engaged to marry.

Gabriel will fight off powerful demons and try to save people caught in the clutches of the wicked serpent. He deals with sin and sinfulness from a deeply Christian perspective.

Gabriel: Angel in Training is a fascinating genre blend that takes spiritual literature, fantasy, drama, and other elements and weaves an engaging narrative throughout. The characters and the plot are exciting and authentic, always keeping the reader hooked. The author also explores the new spiritual world Gabriel finds himself in and the lives of his family, who are dealing with their grief and new challenges as each person copes in healthy or unhealthy ways. The story has various narratives, focusing on each character, and also centers the family as a whole, showing them as a tight-knit group that sometimes needs a reminder to bring them even closer.

The story touches on many important ideas, but the central axis is the exploration of grief. With compassion, it shows the sometimes dark roads pain can lead a person to, but also validates the idea that people might grieve differently. Gabriel: Angel in Training takes readers across interesting, challenging places, such as a “lite” version of heaven, and through exciting battles, however, it never loses the emotional center of the story. The book is sure to be enjoyed by fans of spiritual fantasy with a deeper meaning and targets young adults, though older readers might also find something to enjoy in the story and the characters.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Meredith Baldwin. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Hi Meredith, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about yourself.

Hi, I am a wife, mom, writer, and conjurer of many stories in my head. I live in the south where the saying ‘hot as hades’ must have been originated here! But hey, we love the beach.

Please tell us about your book, Gabriel: Angel in Training.

I drafted this book as a way to process the loss of my brother. I thought, what if he was given a choice to stay with Jesus when in his medically induced coma? This story will attract YA and new adult audiences with fantasy, death, relationships and family, addiction, and redemption wrapped up in a dramedy and rom-com.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Having the support of my husband in my writing adventures is what makes me successful. Now that our children are a little older, writing is an absolute necessity for me. I love to read, it inspires me.

Any message for our readers?
