“I try to get to the real heart and soul of a song”, says Award winning Singer and Songwriter Todd Barrow…

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Todd Barrow. He is making a name for himself as a country artist to watch. The Texas singer-songwriter has racked up more than a few accolades, from a PRSA Award of Excellence to an Akademia Award for Best Country Album, and an artist spotlight in Alternative Roots Magazine, American Pride Magazine and AVA Radio. He has appeared on television shows, including Good Morning Texas with Jerry Matheny and Texas Music Café on PBS.

Todd Barrow has just released his latest single, “Girl Like You.” Todd is a proud member of the Harry Fox Agency, the Country Music Association, the International Singer-Songwriters Association, the Texas Music Office, BMI, the Fort Worth Songwriters Association, American Music Podcasting, the NSAIDFW Songwriters Association, the Dallas Songwriters Association, the British Country Music Association and the Bayou Country Music Association.


Please tell us something about yourself.

I’m a country artist here in Texas. I am also an award-winning songwriter. Enjoy being a producer and musician.

How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.

Todd Barrow

I met Sonny Burgess, who was mentored by Charley Pride and a major country star. He has helped me in many ways. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and perform with big names in the music industry.

Who are your role models?

Country singers like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, George Strait, Gary Allan, and Alan Jackson.

What inspires you?

Well, my good friend recently passed away Charlie Daniels and pioneers of country music Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, etc.

Please tell us about your music publishing company.

I run Todd Barrow Music Publishing with the Harry Fox Agency. I also release my records with Todd Barrow Music.

What’s your most memorable experience?

Playing with the Dukes of Hazzard cast at John Schneider Studio in Louisiana!!! Also, many stars in country music participated.

Which social media channels work best for promoting your work?

Social media is a powerful resource for artists. I rely on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook!

What’s your greatest fear?

Writing a song, recording a song that will flop in the charts.

Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

The ways of promoting and advertising my music. New methods in the music business that have impacted the entire world.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Hard work and Providence. I stand firm in my faith and beliefs. Never giving up on my dream!

What keeps you going when things get tough?

I’ve learned to accept disappointments and bounce back from them. Gratitude has been helpful and a positive attitude.
