Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Düke, a German producer and rapper with Cameroonian roots from Karlsruhe, Germany. He is the founder of the brand and label Potential Entertainment and has produced for artists like Kay One, BTNG, Nessa, and others.
Düke was born in Cameroon in 1998. His father was the musician Billy Mussango, who repeatedly attracted attention with his political and critical lyrics. After the birth of Düke’s brothers Patrick Bill Pagna (rap-per) and Parker Phil Pagna (Soccer player), Billy Mussango decided to leave Cameroon for Germany. Düke’s entry followed in 2009. In the following years, his mother and both brothers also followed.
Please tell us about your music.
After releasing my first mixtape, I started working with my brother Bill on his EP. After releasing his EP, he was part of the label.
In the following time, I attracted attention, especially as a producer. I have worked with BTNG, Kay One, Nessa, and many other artists. At the same time, I signed the Berlin newcomer 03CMB and expanded the label’s structures. In 2021, I started again with a surprise. 03CMB, Bill, and I formed the group CSQUAD and released the French song “Le Pas” with Sony Music France. After a short time, the single reached several million views on Triller and TikTok due to the ‘Le Pas Challenge’ and placed itself internationally.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I believe in my potential, and my goal is to motivate others to believe in themselves too.
