Hiphop and Rap music artist from Utah ‘J.T. Hiskey’ talks about his album Making Hisktory

Today, we are interviewing J.T. Hiskey, hiphop and rap music artist from Utah. His latest album ‘Making Hisktory’ is out. Let’s hear his musical journey…

1. Please tell us something about yourself.

What’s up! My name is J.T. Hiskey, and I am from the lovely state of Utah, born and raised in Salt Lake City. Music is my everything, and I have a new project out called Making Hisktory.

2. What is the story behind Making Hisktory?

J.T.-Hiskey

Wow, great question! Well, I have been recording so much music, and because I have so many songs I have done, I decided to put out a brand new project! This project is very special to me because not only does it have written songs I have recently recorded, but it also has tons of freestyles on it as well. Rapped over a lot of classic beats on this project, and I know my fans will love it.

3. Who are your role models?

My role models would actually be my fans. My fans have always inspired, and they always make me want to keep on going and work hard.

4. What is your favorite track off of Making Hisktory?

My favorite song would honestly have to be the My Name Is Freestyle. That beat is just such a fun beat to rap to, and the original song has always been a big part of my life growing up as a kid too. So many other rappers have rapped over that beat as well, so it was my turn to do so. I also really love Welcome to the Party, which features my best friend, Lil Round Top!

5. What was it like being featured on Jimmy Fallon?

It was amazing. That was one of the best nights of my life. I was in LA that night, and my best friend Andy was texting me in all caps telling me about it, and I couldn’t believe it. It honestly meant so much to me, and I’ll never forget it.

6. Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?

Honestly, at the moment, Instagram and Youtube are still my favorites. They are my favorites because I get to post my creativity, but with Instagram, I am able to go live and play songs for everyone, and that really means so much to me. They are both fun apps to connect with people and share your creativity.

7. What’s your greatest fear?

Hmmm…. interesting question! My greatest fear is probably Pop Its. I am talking about those mini fireworks you throw on the ground, and they pop and make that loud noise… oh I hate those! I had always hated those since I was a kid because I remember one time when I was little growing up, one of my neighbors was throwing them at me because she thought it was funny, and ever since then, I have never liked them. I don’t mind actual fireworks but pop its man….. a big no for me.

8. What’s your favorite song you have ever put out?

J.T.-Hiskey

This always changes, to be honest, but right now, I would have to say Around Me. It’s the song I have been coming out to at the beginning of my shows, and it’s all about me being President. I have always wanted to run for President one day once I turn 35, and so that song means a lot to me in a way, and my fans really love it.

9. What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

J.T.-Hiskey

Honestly, to always stay positive and never look down. I am such a happy person, and I am a firm believer that the vibes you put out are the vibes that come right back to you, so I always maintain positive. Positivity can take you a long way, and I really believe in good karma as well. I feel like if you are a good person, and you are good for those around you, good things will happen.

10. Can we expect more new music soon?

Yes, you can! I got so much planned for this year. So many amazing ideas in mind, and I honestly can’t wait to hit the road again and see everyone.

11. Any message for our readers.

J.T.-Hiskey

Yes! Please be kind to others, and please never ever give up on your dreams. I know things can get tough at times, but please be there for others and support one another.

12. Can you tell us what your next project will be?

I honestly wish I could, but I am excited for you to hear it. Making Hisktory is currently out now, and I can’t thank you enough for listening to it! I love you!

13. How can people connect with you?

You can connect with me on all social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
