Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Oliver. He is a Rap Music Artist and goes by his artist name Xavier Evans.
Please tell us about what it is that you do.
I’m 18 years old. I make rap music about broken hearts and dreams. I find myself depressed in a sad world. I got my heart broken back in 2017, I never recovered from my broken heart. I think the problem is that I overthink a lot, and when bad things happen to me. I always think that it will happen again. I can never get those thoughts out of my head. I do have social anxiety, which makes everything even worse. Overall, I’m an artist. I make underground rap music.
Please tell us more about your journey.
My journey started years ago; I used to be social with friends and all that. But when I ended up getting my heart broken at a young age. I could not tell if I was good enough or if nobody even liked me, so I started to isolate myself from the outside. I went to 10th grade and got my best grade in English, an A+. But I also thought at the same time, “Wow, Oliver, you ain’t good enough for this.” So I failed some classes. And now, we are in 2021. My 19th birthday is around the corner, February 1. I was born in 2002.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I think I can do it with music, cuz that’s really the only thing I find myself being good at. And I can express my feelings in music.
