Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Darryl Watson, an emcee and Rapper from New Jersey.
Can you please tell us about your journey.
I’ve been rapping for a while but released my 1st project in a duo with my friend Ryan Teodoro (Producer, Engineer, DJ). After about 5 other projects, we teamed up with Mark Thomas (sax), Mike Burrell ( keys, guitar, vocals ) and formed the band Last Cabal.
Please tell us about your band Last Cabal.
The Last Cabal is a hip hop band from the South Jersey/New York area combining instrumentation with new school and old school production into a fusion covering lots of different sounds. The band features Mark Thomas (saxophone), Mike Burrell ( guitar, vocals), and myself.
Please tell us about your latest album, “16 tracks for that azz”.
We are in the process of dropping our 2nd album (my 8th), altogether, which will be entitled “16 tracks for that azz” which has the singles ” Boomshakala ” and “Bes’likedat.”
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I definitely connect with fans and always try to find a way to put my personality into my music without compromise. And always trying to stay on top of the industry’s direction.
