He recorded a full song when he was 12 years old!! Singer and Songwriter Dylan Jett talks about his latest single ‘PACKING.’

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Dylan Jett, an Actor, Musician, Singer, and Songwriter. Dylan has been writing, producing and performing all his own music, other than collaborations with other artists and producers.

Hi, Great to have you with us today! Please tell us about yourself.

I am 18 years old, and I’m from Melbourne, Australia.

Dylan

Please tell us more about your journey.

Since I was seven years old, I have been acting, singing, performing, playing piano, writing, and recording music. One of the reasons I love acting is that you get to develop and shape your character. Through that experience, you sometimes get to explore and portray different personas, which is a great little form of escapism both for the actor and the audience. Music is equally a form of escapism, for me even more so, because you get to share with the world something that is a part of you. If I can reach even one person through my music, if they find something in my songs that they can resonate or identify with, if something I have written can bring someone joy or help them through a difficult situation, that’s just extremely rewarding.

Please tell us about your latest single, PACKING.

PACKING is a song that highlights the struggles of letting go of all the hopes and dreams you had once a relationship has ended. It’s an experience we have all been through, and I hope some people can identify with this situation. It was co-written with Nico Larsson, Rob Agostini, and Alicia Angel. It was so fulfilling to work with such talented writers who have all shared similar experiences. It was not about one particular break-up but rather a representation of experiences we have all been through.

What’s your most memorable experience?

My most memorable experience musically was definitely completing my first song. The feeling of creating a completed musical piece and being able to express my thoughts through the music and words was just so satisfying. I think I was about 12 when I first completed and recorded a full song. After that, I was hooked!

With regards to acting, working on The Water Diviner with Russell Crowe, Olga Kurylenko, Steve Bastoni, Jai Courtney, and Isabel Lucas was a pretty incredible experience. I learned so much from these amazing artists, and I fell in love with acting through that experience.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Work hard, give 1000% to everything you do, follow your gut instead of following trends, and always practice gratitude. It’s very grounding, and it reminds you of how far you’ve come, even if you are not where you ultimately want to be yet.

Any message for our readers.

For anyone who has a creative streak: explore it, give in to it and create. It’s good for the soul! But overall, I encourage everyone to follow their dreams and don’t be discouraged if they don’t materialize as fast as you want them to. I really believe that if you want something bad enough and are willing to put in the work, you will eventually succeed. Just don’t lose focus and don’t lose faith.

Fantastic! So tell us, how can people find out more about you?
