‘Your Spell’ features stunning vocals with electronic beats by Artist, Producer & DJ Nazariff aka Rodger Edmonds IV.

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Rodger Edmonds IV, professionally known as Nazariff

Your Spell is the newest release from Nazariff, an artist, producer, and DJ working in Washington, DC. Rodger Edmonds IV or Nazariff has been rising in popularity in the last few years thanks to an original approach to electronic music and the hard work he puts into all of his productions.

Electronic music has been oversaturated with specific types of productions that follow the same template repeatedly. This has led many to seek out new and better options that take a more original approach to the genre, and that is just what Nazariff strives to provide. He is looking to create electronic music with greater substance, building intelligent and catchy music to offer his listeners a better musical experience than the mainstream, and it appears to be working pretty well. His discography is continuously expanding, and he tries to be a part of many musical festivals, so he might be coming soon to one near you as well.

Nazariff strives to create something new and yet accessible, blending the lines between mainstream and obscure music. He has distinguished himself as an inventive and capable producer who has worked with a variety of hip-hop, rock, and pop artists, adding a dark touch to their sounds, Nazariff now brings his solo release. While focusing on electronic music, it does many original things to distinguish itself from the genre and especially from the most basic of the pieces done within this area. Nazariff has tried to bring listeners subtle and advanced melodies that take the best of electronic and combine it with other genres to create a distinct and original experience.

His experience with music started since a young age. Although he spent a long time as a producer, eventually, he moved on to become a DJ as well and now an artist in his own right.

Your Spell features stunning vocals and a haunting tone that adds the darkness that has so characterized the artist. The song combines a witch-like aspect with electronic beats and sounds to create something new and interesting that defies genre boundaries and creates a particularly interesting experience. Listeners who are tired of finding the same old approach should definitely give it a go.

Nazariff has been focused on growing a discography that is consistently becoming more impressive. 2020 and 2021 have been very productive years in regards to music and going beyond producing and DJing, although it is clear that these skills also shine through in his current work. More releases are sure to follow Your Spell. Nazariff’s music seems to be distinguished by dark undertones that add a special haunting touch and combine genres to create something truly novel and unique in a market that is consistently focusing on repetition.

Let’s get started with the Interview…

Hi Nazariff, Great to have you with us today! Please tell us about what it is that you do.

I’m an Artist/Producer/DJ based out of Washington DC. I started producing 13 years ago and have mastered quite a few genres. I started out producing hip-hop beats in high school for the local rapper, and by the time I got to college, I began producing pop songs for artists and music for TV and film during my time in Los Angles. After moving back home after finishing my degree, I got into the EDM craze around 2012; I didn’t start formally start performing as a DJ until 2016.

Please tell us more about your journey.

It’s been an interesting musical journey, lots of ups and downs, a lot of learning things the hard way, but it’s a marathon, not a sprint, and I’ve become so musically diverse that I think the next steps will be fruitful,

Please tell us more about your latest single, Your Spell.

Your Spell literally came together magically; I was working on an idea that I was progressing on. Eventually, I realized it needed a vocal, so I reached out to a colleague who had one she never intended to release. (She does not wish to be identified) Once I had the vocal, everything started to come together like a puzzle on an Ouija board, hahaha. The atmosphere, beat, and production I added turned into a Hybrid of Trap/Pop. The overall sound originates from the infamous obscure Tumblr micro genre known as Witch House. I kind of wanted to create a bridge between that and Pop, so I’m labeling it Post Witch House. It’s been well received so far.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Understanding the changes in this new digital age of the music industry. Navigating through the steps to reach my audience and I’ve been reimagining my brand to be more fan-friendly and interactive. I’m identified as a Trap DJ, but a lot of my work expands beyond that, which is why I produce for artists in other genres. Look up Camille Michelle Gray I’ve produced a good chunk of her work, and that’s Indie Pop. It’s just the EDM genre I perform. Trends are always changing, so I’m constantly experimenting with different techniques to hit my target goals.

Any message for our readers.

Genres are like walls, but they can be broken, and bridges can be built so music can keep evolving. I think it’s a progressive way to think moving forward. Keep an open mind, music is subjective, but you can’t hear it if you close your ears.

Fantastic! So tell us, how can people find out more about you?

You can google me or visit my website. It’s a mix of a music site and a blog. You can also visit my Instagram @Nazariff.

Thank you so much, Nazariff, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
