Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Don Pelo, a singer and songwriter. His long journey with music started at an early age. From churches to theaters, from bars to small venues, Don Pelo has been there.
Please tell us what music means to you?
Music is a means of life, and without it, everything would be dull and saddened. This powerful and emotional machine helps express the deepest feelings known to mankind. That’s why sharing music, your story, is not so yours because your lines touch others. So, music is life, and that’s the journey to be on.
Music has always been part of me, through good and bad.
Please tell us about your music album ‘The Envelope.’
I recently released a reggae music album in January, ‘The Envelope.’ The music album ‘The Envelope’ is available on iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon.
This album is a seven-year battle before it came to life. With the participation of several artists around the globe, the impossibility has been crushed. The Envelope is an Afro-Caribbean, roots, and rock-flavored album.
I am now working on my 2nd reggae music album ‘EXIT.’
Can you please tell us more about your journey?
I have been on the music stage for some time. With my live band ‘INITE RIDD’M,’ all my compositions take a different, not to say a better route.
I write and compose my music along with one of the best producers I know, ‘Charlotin Blanchard,’ a talented Haitian music producer.
My debut started in Haiti, which is my native land, with the BHF, The Black Haitian Fellows.
My artistic talents extend to painting as well. I love to create my own world with the emotions felt at the time. Music is the vehicle of emotions, but paintings can show emotions, and they can be felt.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I don’t really have a strategy. Music is different. Especially when your contents are brought solely by inspirations.
