Kodamas Records is a place where artists can really express what they want, shares Founder Antoine Bertrand a.k.a. Tanadamus

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Antoine Bertrand, also know as Tanadamus. He is a Musician, Producer, and Founder of Kodamas Records.

Hi Antoine, Great to have you with us today! Please tell us about your journey.

I’m French. Born in Montpellier, in the south of France. I started music around the age of 12 when I had my first keyboard; it never stopped from then. I’m not especially from a family of musicians, but I grew in music. My dad made me learn guitar as soon as I could play, and my mom taught me piano. From a young age, I spent weeks and weeks listening to CDs & Vinyle we had in the living room. I started the Tanadamus project a few years ago. First, it was just a joke on SoundCloud where I was discovering new music and uploading beats. A few months later, I was contacted to sell my first beat. From then I started to produce regularly, mostly for rappers. Rap has always been important to me, but I could say that now even if it’s a big part of the production I do, I tried to discover new horizons and evolve to something more diversified. I have plenty of different alias for the different genres I’m publishing, and I think my main goal now is to accept it as it is and reunite everything I do under a single name.

Please tell us about your music label, Kodamas Records.

I started Kodamas Records, the music label, back in 2018 when I was in Montreal. I was completely drowning in the musical culture back there, and I knew I wanted to do something with that. My goal was to showcase new artists and works with people that made the music I loved. Now Kodamas Records is a place where artists can really express what they want. They can push boundaries and truly focus on their music without problems. We’re not aiming for commercial goals. We’re just all doing it with passion.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

I think that created itself naturally. Being in this artistic world, you talk with many people who share your passion, and you always end up building things. I couldn’t tell; it’s like a family where everyone just wants to create.

Any message for our readers.

Aha, yes, just follow your dreams! That may sound cheesy, but it’s fundamental. Even if you’re not doing what you like or what you wished in your life, you’ll always end up coming back to your real dreams if you don’t let them go.
