Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing D’Ante Kareem Adkins, known professionally as Turn Up Tobi, an American Music Producer and Professional Musician based in New Jersey.
Please tell us more about your journey.
I was born in Newark, New Jersey, on December 9th, 2000. While I was in middle school, my music teacher Ms.Ransom taught me how to play Holy grail by Jay Z on piano and play ‘All of Me’ by John Legend. I was also in the boy’s choir with Mr.Tamburo, who helped me learn music theory and play some chords on the guitar. Without those two, I’m sure I wouldn’t be who I am today. I then started playing for church and improved my skills. In 2018, I received my first laptop as a Christmas gift and started to make beats and create music.

Don’t be afraid to fail. When I stopped being scared of people’s opinions and NO’s, I started to flourish in every aspect.
