Im Chang-kyun, also known as I.M or Changkyun, is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, and model who has found a lot of success on an international level, both solo and as a part of a band.

Personal Life
I.M was born on January 26, 1996. He was born in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, although he considers Gwangsan-gu of Gwangju as his home city. He spent much of his early life in Boston and other countries due to his father’s work, which allowed him to become fluent in English.
Professional Life
Chankyun debuted as a part of the group Monsta X and, in 2021, made his solo debut. In 2013, he was part of the band Nu’bility, but this group was never officially launched. Later on, he entered a survival show produced by M’net, being added as contestant number 13. He was chosen to debut in Monsta X, the hip-hop band selected in the contest, among the seven finalists. Monsta X released the first album, Trespass, in 2015. He released a mixtape in 2016 and then in 2019 as well. In addition to the music, he released several audiobooks narrated by him and another band member.
Monsta X has been an influential band in Korea thanks to their unique and rather aggressive style, featuring a genre-blending approach to music that offers a loud and angry sound with influences from hip-hop, EDM, and pop.
In 2021, he released his first solo album as an artist, in contrast with the mixtapes he had put out before. It was a single called God Damn from the EP Duality. This helped I.M showcase his skills in a different way than his work with Monsta X and focus more on writing songs and performing in a new manner. The EP was critically acclaimed, and the songs earned a place in the Billboard charts. It was especially notorious because all songs from the EP reached a spot in March. I.M also has worked as a model, with his most recent engagement being with Versace as the face of their new fragrance. I.M has been recognized for his work as a solo artist and as part of the band and his songwriting skills. His performances have been quite popular among fans and have allowed him to go solo.
Trivia
I.M was added to the cast of the survival show Mnet very late, being the last contestant. Despite this, he managed to secure a spot on the band.
Changkyun has written extensively for Monsta X and has credits across their discography, contributing rap verses to their oeuvre. He started writing for the group since the release of their first EP, Trespass.
The artist has narrated three audiobooks: The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde, Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe, and My Heart Leaps Up by William Wordsworth.
I.M has collaborated with ELHAE, an American artist, on several occasions for his mixtape and bandmate Shonwu for creating music and other endeavors.
