Her early life and career beginnings

P!nk was born to emergency room nurse Judith Judy Moore and insurance salesperson James Jim Moore. She developed asthma in her early years, even though she was born a healthy baby. At age ten, her parents’ marital issues led to a divorce.
P!nk began training as a competitive gymnast from the age of four to twelve and also developed her voice at an early age.

She attended Central High School West and joined a band called Middleground, which disbanded after they lost in the Band’s competition. P!nk started writing lyrics when she was a teenager, and at 14, was performing in Philadelphia clubs. It was during this time that she adopted the stage name P!nk, a nickname she borrowed from Mr. P!nk in Quentin Tarantino’s film Reservoir Dogs. After auditioning to become a member of the female group Basic Instinct, she got in, but the group disbanded without releasing a single song.

She formed her own R&B group Choice at 16, with two other teenage girls: Sharon Flanagan and Chrissy Conway. They sent a copy of their first song, Key to My Heart to La Face Records, in Atlanta, Georgia. Fortunately, L.A. Reid overheard it and arranged for them to come to perform. In 1996, Reid instructed P!nk to go solo, which led to Choice disbanding in 1998.

Her professional career life

P!nk signed a recording contract with LaFace records after Choice disbanded. In 2000, she released her debut single There You Go in February and began working on her solo album Can’t Take Me Home.

P!nk was unsatisfied and wanted more creative control with her music. She hired Linda Perry and spent months writing songs for her second album, Missundaztood. Her lead single, Get the Party Started became a worldwide hit and number four on the Billboard Hot 100, winning several awards. Her other singles also topped charts and recorded tremendous successes.
On November 11, 2003, P!nk released her third album, Try This. It reached the top 10 on album charts, although sales were below Missundaztood. One of her singles, Trouble, earned her the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance category at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards.

She released her fourth album, I’m Not Dead, through LaFace in April 2006, and the album emerged successfully and topped in the US, Australia, Germany, and the UK.
Her other albums include The Truth About Love, which sold over $147.9 million in ticket sales, Beautiful Trauma, and many other remarkable singles that she released.
P!nk made her mark with her songs reaching number one, collaborating with the industry’s top best, going on many tours, and selling millions of tickets. There were several notable performances and winning many awards and trophies.

P!nk’s personal life

P!nk proposed to her partner Carey Hart in June 2005. They married in Costa Rica on January 7, 2006. They both have a daughter and a son.
