Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, actor, and record producer. He’s widely considered highly influential for several contemporary hip hop and alternative acts. His songs often have autobiographical lyrics and describe what happened in his childhood, all the hardships he had to do, and the depression he had to overcome. There are also themes of drugs into adulthood, struggles with alcohol, as well as themes about heartbreak, spirituality, and celebration.

Early life before fame:
Kid Cudi was born as Scott Ramon Seguro in Cleveland. He grew up in Solon and Shaker Heights. Kid Cudi has two older brothers, Dean and Domingo. He also has an older sister, Maisha. His father is Lindberg Styles Mescudi, a house painter, a substitute teacher, and even a World War two Air Force veteran of African-American and Mexican descent. Kid Cudi’sCudi’s mother is Elsie Harriet. She is a school choir teacher at the Roxboro Middle SchoolSchool in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
At 11 years of age, Kid Cudi’s father passed away. This had a tremendous effect on Kid Cudi’s personality and music. Kid Cudi attended Shaker Heights High School. After two years, he was transferred to Solon High School. After causing some issues, the young Cudi was expelled from the school as heh ad threatened to punch the principal. He studied film at the University of Toledo but also dropped out after a year.
Professional career:
He began rapping in 2003 when he was still in high school. And after he moved to New York City to pursue his rap career, things took a turn for the better. In 2006 Kid Cudi et his future mentor, producer, and rapper Kanye West in a Virgin Megastore. In an interview, he recounted, “I was looking for CD’s, saw glimpse of a Jesus piece in the right side of my left eye, and after looking up, Kanye was there.” He introduced himself to me and even offered some of his music. Some years later, Kid Cudi would accidentally run into Kanye again while working at the BAPE store in New York.
Kid Cudi’s first big song was “Day ‘n’ Nite” (2007). It was featured in multiple music blogs and was initially only uploaded to the Kid Cudis persona’s MySpace page. This song caught the attention of Kanye through his then-manager Plain Pat. This led to Kanye West signing Kid Cuti to his GOOD Music imprint that very year.
Relationship status:
Kid Cudi began dating entertainment attorney Jamie Baratta in 2009. But their relationship was an on-again, off-again kind of thing, but they were still a respected couple throughout the music industry. Later on, they broke up due to Cudi not having enough time to attend to the relationship. He then became engaged to the costume designer and actress Raquel Deriane, and has dedicated multiple songs to her.
