Who says you can’t start the bucket list early? says Influencer and Famous Youtuber HotoshotJacko

Today, we are interviewing Jack or known online as HotshotJacko. He travels the world solo experiencing extreme sports. He then cuts the footage up so people can see everything on YouTube in 3 minutes.

Who says you can’t start the bucket list early?

1. How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?

I think getting your driver’s license gives you a great amount of freedom. As soon as I had my car 2 years ago, I drove to the airport, hopped on a plane, and jetted to New York for Christmas. Since then, I’ve been to 10 countries, 4 continents on my own on a student wage just by eating lots of instant noodles.

I always loved making videos since being a kid when I posted funny sketches on my YouTube. Since then, it’s kind of transformed into a travel thing with touches of comedy sprinkled in. The name HotshotJacko came from my old Xbox Gamertag since I’m useless at committing to new names (probably why I’m single).

Last year I was Googling myself – as you do – and saw that lots of people are searching for me. Not just any old Jack, but HotshotJacko. So I thought, let’s put something at the top of those search results. Thus, the website was born. Now it’s full steam ahead on traveling the world, fleshing out hotshotjacko.com with all the juicy details, and spinning all the other plates.

2. What’s your most memorable experience?

It’s weird because I remember it feeling so surreal at the time, but just spending a week in New York City at Christmas on my own. I planned it whilst on the plane, and just had the attitude ‘go now, think later.’ Thankfully, I survived – in Brooklyn.

3. What’s your biggest pet peeve?

People not following through with things. So my friends and colleagues never know I’ve been gone until I’m back, and it blows their mind. One reason I do this is that I hate when people don’t follow through with things or just get on with it. So I don’t tell anyone until I’m back, and then my plans can’t fall through! And then soon after, this crazy 3-minute video hits them with all this bucket-list content.

4. What do you do to relax?

Well, I don’t drink anymore, so not that! It’s pretty much just work, blogging, traveling, videoing, social life, and other stuff, with the gym to let out any extra energy. I love TV, films, and gaming (Call of Duty). But I’m trying to break my record of reading just 1 book each year!

5. Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

Enjoy the journey – don’t wait for the destination. Enjoy the process of doing whatever you’re working at, without just wanting more, more, more.

6. What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

I live the online/YouTuber/influencer life without being one. I spend all my money on these crazy extreme sports, filming videos for friends’ channels or sites, get home and spend days editing, recording Tiktoks for social media, and then writing for the website. I do it for enjoyment, so it’s kind of great, even without the fame.

7. Any message for our readers.

They’re great people – keep doing what you’re doing!

8. How can people connect with you?

Exclusively Instagram and the website! Please don’t come to my house unless you have cookies.
