Ashton Burrell is inspiring a generation by helping students graduate High School!

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Ashton Burrell, Founder of the Hometown Hero Club and Live Mentorship Program.

Ashton Burrell is the founder of Transforming New World Consulting, the umbrella organization for his LIVE Mentorship Program (LMP), which he founded in 2011 while a sophomore at Lincoln University. LMP was created to provide mentoring to all youth between the ages of 9 to 19 from different paths and cultures of life within his surrounding communities. Principally, LMP helps youths with their schoolwork so that they can complete high school, provides drug and alcohol counseling, prepares youths for the workforce by teaching them how to dress and deport themselves for success, advising on career goals, and exposing them to organizations for networking opportunities, and providing a place for social and recreational activities. Mr. Burrell develops a strong bond with the youths that is life-altering. The program maintains a 100% graduation rate for every senior that has been in the program. Since 2011 Burrell has helped and inspired over 400 students to graduate from high school.

Hi, please tell us about what it is that you do.

I am a musician and an award-winning community leader. I am also the youngest chairman ever for the state of New Jersey’s human relations council. I also just received one of the state’s highest honors, The Governors Jefferson award, as a founder and innovator and preparing to launch my shoot hoops, not guns basketball game to stop senseless gun violence.
