1. Please tell us something about yourself.

After working in Theatre, I moved over to the world of events and have worked in the industry for over 20 years. It’s very much like marmite….you love it or hate it, and I absolutely love it. Its fast-paced and quick decision making makes it an adrenaline-filled week most weeks.
All of my companies are based around the events world.

2. How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?

I wanted to offer people an enjoyable place to work and customers a company they enjoy working with.

3. Who are your role models?

My dad is at the top of the list, after retiring from his job of 40 years he came to work with Taylex. Not only is he my adviser but an adviser to our team.
There are also industry leaders such as Dave Walley and Trevor Pearson, now MD to Taylex.

4. What inspires you?

To be the best.

5. Please tell us about your company.

I value a fun workplace just as much as company success, and I firmly believe that the most successful companies are built on both dedication and laughter. Although we are now 13 years old Taylex is constantly trying new methods of production and introducing new software to keep up with the ever changing world of events. It is great having a team behind you that understand this and embraces it.

6. What’s your most memorable experience?

I am sure I have one; I need to think about that one.

7. Which social media channels work best for promoting your work?

I guess Youtube best showcases what we do. Facebook and Instagram always seem a bit lifeless for us with no interaction.

8. What’s your greatest fear?

Failure! no matter what the project is I always want it to be the best

9. Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

People…there is only 1 in 100 people that share the same attributes as me. That person does not need to be an entrepreneur, or an IT wizard, just someone who cares about other people and makes sure their job is done to the best of their abilities.

10. What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Repetition… if you want to get good at something, you need to do it over and over again till it becomes 2nd nature.
For someone like me who sets for themselves ridiculous and sometimes unachievable targets, you have to break them down to smaller pieces that you can achieve. This way, you see results, and it makes you more determined to finish your goals.

11. What keeps you going when things get tough?

Failure

12. Any message for our readers.

Taylex-Displays-Ltd-Pic

Don’t waste your time worrying about what others think of you, stick by your own set of beliefs, and like-minded people will naturally join you.

13. How can people connect with you?

Even in this age of technology, the best way to connect with people is in person.
