An interaction with Alea Karin, an Entrepreneur, Music Artist and Blogger

Today, we are interviewing Alea Karin, an entrepreneur, and a music artist.

Please tell us something about yourself.

Born in the Indian jungle, adopted to Sweden at the age of two, grew up in a Christian family with a lot of strong and good role models. A safe and happy childhood. When I was in my twenties, I went on a trip to Thailand. I thought I would never visit it because so many others liked it.

But somehow, after a few weeks, I never wanted to leave. I found myself living there for 7.5 years. During my life in Thailand, I have been in a country that was hit by the tsunami. We were on the right coast when it hit the country. The country was under martial law and state of emergency many times. A suicide bomber detonated his bomb on our street, and the day after my transfer in a Russian airport had a bomb attack. We also experienced a natural catastrophe when the sky opened, and it rained for many many days. I can’t help to feel I’m so blessed to be alive, and I don’t believe in any gray or ordinary days. I praise every day.

I also took a bachelor’s degree in human geography from the university in Gotland, Sweden, while living in Bangkok, enjoying life. In the first 3 years, I lived on one island, there was a jealous person who, one night, tried to kill me. By the grace of God, I could flee to Bangkok, and I did not know anyone. It was the best that could ever happen to me, apart from the almost killing incident. I created a new life from scratch, and after a while, I met amazing people and found myself hanging out with various famous Thai people. A new world opened up, and one night I met a girl and her manager. This was the number 1 female DJ in Asia. She took me on her tour, and we ended up playing at Vietnam’s first-ever music festival.

I think my life is a constant reminder that we might not choose what happens to us, where we are born etc. But we can choose what we do with our lives. Once I Lived in Bangkok, I also met the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen. I tried to talk with him, but it turned out he couldn’t speak a word of English. So I learned Thai so I could speak to him. During that time, I was admitted to the hospital because it turned out I had TBC. So it was a great time for me to learn how to write Thai.

Now about 13 years later, that man is my husband. We have 3 children and live in Sweden. He learned to speak Swedish, and we try to teach our kids to speak all languages. I still sing and just gave out a CD for small children in the Swedish language. Hopefully, when I have more time, I can produce my songs. However, my son dreams about becoming an artist, and you can find him under @pexandtoys on Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube.

How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.

I have always wanted to create and help people. So, I decided to open a homepage, so I could share my ideas and also the tricks I had to actually make money online. My process of doing something like this has always been with me, but it’s first now I feel I had the time to do it. I write my blog as a personal letter because this is how I would write to a friend.

Who are your role models?

My parents and all hardworking, honest, and loving people I had the gift to have around me in my upbringing. All my grown relatives as well as my parent’s friends in the local church, they all gave me the best you can give a child: a sense of belonging and wanted.

What inspires you?

Children and young people inspire me. Greta Thunberg is a great example of a young adult from Sweden. Children never see any obstacles and think about stuff on another level that we do. Of course, many music artists inspire me, and often I find myself listening to songs and get energy from them.

Please tell us about what you do.

I want to share my blog where I promote my music, my son’s career, and a life in balance and inspire people. I am also the manager of my son, @pexandtoys.

What’s your most memorable experience?

My first memorable experience with the internet was when I started to make money only. When I found out the way, I could make money online. I found the key to trading online, and when I first started to make money, it was mind-blowing that it actually works. And I wonder why I was struggling all these years with other stuff to make money online. More about this is on my blog.

There are so many fantastic memories outside the internet, like my wedding and when my children were born. What I want to think about when I die is all the fantastic hugs and kisses my children give me. They give me so much power.

Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?

I use various social media, I guess I’m considered old school. I use Facebook and Instagram, mostly along with my site www.aleakarin.com and blog on WordPress https://theworldofaleakarin.wordpress.com. I have an account for my son on TikTok. What works for me is that I’m genuine. I only promote things I tried and believe in.

What’s your greatest fear?

Losing people I love. I’m constantly afraid that something would happen to my children or many families. Money is temporary, but if you are wise, you don’t overspend. Always have a plan and stick to it.

Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

I was always on the run. Trying to get to the finishing line. Now I understand that there are goals, but there is no finishing line because we as artists are never done. We just have to accept that we will get new ideas all the time. Just enjoy the ride. There is no “right time” there is just now or later. But I have always planned, now I have to plan together with my family.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

I have a few that I will share on my blog. But mostly it goes down to the basics. Have a clear goal, make a strategy, and stick to it. Find people who succeed in your field and copy what they do, but do it your way.

What keeps you going when things get tough?

My strategy and my faith keep me going. I love to plan so, when I’m down, I’m planning for a better time.

Any message for our readers.

I want to tell you that it’s ok to crash and fall. We all do it. Nobody is perfect, and if you want to succeed in any field, you need to find your balance in life. If not, you will crash.

I try to promote a life where you are in the present and enjoy your life, rather than that you need to be perfect online. I think social media can be toxic. I write about detoxing social media, something that I think we all can benefit from. Finding your balance in life is not easy, but in my blog, you can learn how to do it. Sign up for my letters and let me inspire you.

How can people connect with you?
