There are many brown brothers, but there is only one Brother Brown, Meet Jamal – Author of 2 books and Owner of BrotherBrown Publishing LLC!

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Jamal Brown, Author of two books titled 26 Miles: My Marathon and Two Peas: The Assignment

Hi, Please tell us about what it is that you do.

I own my publishing company called BrotherBrown Publishing LLC. I started it to self-publish my own books after being given the run around from the larger publishing houses. I decided to do it myself.

Please tell us about your journey.

I was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Bridgeton is one of the poorest cities in the state. My childhood was fun. I spent most of my adolescence playing basketball and; traveling states playing in tournaments.

After graduating high school in 2010, the ball stopped bouncing. I relied on my education to further my success. I attended Clark Atlanta University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2015.

I also joined the military and have been serving the country for the past ten years, and I plan to retire from the army.

I started writing in 2016. I kept hearing a voice telling me to write for a while. Since I picked up the pen, it has been history ever since.

Writing is not for the weak; it is a very vigorous process that takes you on a journey.

Please tell us about your company, BrotherBrown Publishing LLC.

BrotherBrown Publishing helps assist authors in all phases of the book publishing process, i.e., the printing of brochures, novels, children’s books, and maps.

26 Miles: My Marathon is a collection of poems that illustrate my thought process during trials and tribulations throughout my life. My writing style warms readers and brings them reassurance that we share the same struggles.

Two Peas: The Assignment is a psychological thriller dipped in reality. This is my first novel. Two Peas is an assignment I created for myself to help others understand who they are. The book is my response to the assignment. Two Peas will be a feature film one day or maybe a series.

Took me 2 years to complete it. Readers will love this piece of work. I guarantee it.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

The strategy I used to become successful in my writing is to not make excuses. Procrastinating used to kill me. Now I am quick to write over other activities. As the captain of my writing ship, it starts and ends with the strike of my pen.

Make time to write. It helped me teach myself to look into writing movies, plays, etc. The author is the backbone of any civilization because he or she is the scribe.

Any message for our readers.

For anyone that is finding out about me for the first time, I want the people to know that I have a story to tell and that my books will bring understanding to all.
