The experiences and emotions in Skye Stories Trilogy will definitely strike a chord, says Author Raymond Moore!

Skye-Stories

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Raymond Moore, Author of the Skye Stories Trilogy.

Hi Raymond, Great to have you with us today! Please tell us about what it is that you do.

I am originally from Glasgow, Scotland, now living and working in Saudi Arabia as Registered Nurse.

What inspired you to write Skye Stories Trilogy.

The genesis of my writing took place on Facebook, where I was contributing pieces for numerous groups. These seem to go down quite well, and I was encouraged to write my first book.

Please tell us more about Skye Stories Trilogy.

Skye Stories Volume 2: The Road to Uig is the second in a trilogy. Volume 1: The Linicro Years was published in January, and Volume 3: Not the Skye Years comes out in October. The Skye Stories Trilogy documents my leaving my family in Glasgow and living with my Great Aunt and Great Grandmother on the Isle of Skye in 1977. Told in stories and poems, I write about being a young teen growing up in a remote township. The characters I met and the mischief I got up to.

The second volume sees me move from my Linicro home and going to live in the village of Uig in the late 1970s. My adventures in life and love.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

With my writing, I found that I wrote honestly then the words came easy. Although the story is set on the Isle of Skye, my experiences as a teenager are universal, and most folk will be able to relate to what happened in my life. I also tried to keep the writing light and with a sense of humor.

Any message for our readers.

My only message would be, don't be like me! I'm incredibly lazy, but I found once I got started, I couldn't stop. So now I've just completed my first novel, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll and Nursing, set in Edinburgh in the 1980s.

Thank you so much, Raymond, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
