Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Michael John Peters, an artist who uses science and technology to make paintings and sculptures like you have never seen before.
Hi, please tell us about your journey.
My journey is one of many experiences. I have been through it all. My journey as an artist only began recently during the Covid Pandemic. Having no training, no education, and no experience in painting, I did what no one else imagined at the height of global panic. I opened a storefront filled with my art.
That’s inspirational! Please tell us about Maui Art Gallery.
I am the owner and artist of Saveters Fine Art LLC, which operates under the registered trade name “Maui Art Gallery) located at 1279 S Kihei Road, Suite 110, on the island of Maui, Hawaii.
The company comprises of 3 categories. My art, my Island Style Jewelry and wood watches, and art I broker. In my storefront at Azeka Plaza in Kihei, I sell my art and my jewelry line. On eBay, I broker work from world-renowned artists.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Strategy, that’s a good question. I first tested my art on eBay to make sure people liked it. I got a ton of feedback. 100% positive reviews. After that, I had to make a decision to ride that easy route or to push forward. It was my desire to show optimism in my community that led me to push forward. People were confused, but they were excited. When I was building, putting my space together, people would just push their way into the store. They would tell me I was crazy and brave while applauding my decision.
Any message for our readers.
My first message would be:
Believe in yourself. I know it sounds boring but let go of that fear and throw yourself into what you feel. People live as if they will never die, and they die having never lived. There is nothing to lose when you allow yourself to let go of that fear and live your life.
And, my second message is:

The best way to find out more is to visit my store. I create every day. Right there on the floor in the front of the gallery, you will find me manipulating resin, mixing mica powders, and painting.
