Katarzyna from Deal with Culture helps international companies in expanding their teams and improving the quality of their employees’ experience

Today, we are interviewing Katarzyna, founder of Deal With Culture, Recruitment, Communication, and Wellbeing Consulting agency. She has a strong background in the aviation sector. She gained experience in working operations and HR departments for top international airlines like Emirates, Etihad, Gulf Air, and Qatar Airways.

How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?

She has been practicing yoga since 2005. This practice changed her life and set on a path where she discovered various methods of bringing balance to body and mind, including ayurvedic – yoga massage, acro yoga, and positive psychology. The abundance of her international corporate experience combined with yoga and bodywork practice allows her to connect and understand the needs of busy entrepreneurs and decision-makers.

Who are your role models?

Katarzyna had been inspired by contemporary entrepreneurs and social scientists, as well as people who were promoting digital nomadism. She was impressed by people who built great personal brands and helped others impact and change their lives for better, like Matthew Hussey, Marisa Peer, and Vishen Lanhiani.

What inspires you?

I wrote my ebook, Life After Flying, to summarize the steps and learning points from my own journey from cabin crew to a location independent entrepreneur. Working for aviation gave me a massive opportunity to live a nearly jet-set lifestyle. Yet, it wasn’t ideal for someone who had a big spirit for independence and entrepreneurship.

What’s your most memorable experience?

Aviation brings many memorable experiences, just like the life of an entrepreneur. I was faced with unique cabin crew recruitment experiences, just like the one in Thailand or the Philippines, where I had to quickly learn how to spot transgender candidates as they were not accepted by the airline I was recruiting for. Luckily, I was accompanied by a more experienced colleague, and she guided me with some handy tips. Another time, I was recruiting from dawn till dusk in Zimbabwe. The hotel was totally stormed by nearly 1000 candidates. Some people came walking with crutches, applying for the job of a cabin crew. Some came with babies, breastfeeding them as they were waiting in the queue to submit their CV. I managed to control the situation by asking the hotel management to close the hotel doors, and they did with the assistance of the police. I finished calling and inviting for the second stage of the interview the candidates around midnight.

Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?

I use Linked In, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Each of them targets different clients, as my portfolio of products and services is versatile.

My latest flagship product is a digital detox retreat in Portugal designed to assist with balanced living for busy decision-makers. Go to Youtube to learn more about the importance of Wellbeing and see interviews with my team members who are running workshops during the retreat.

What’s your greatest fear?

Human closemindedness and its implications impacting people’s lives.

Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

Entrepreneurship starts with having a specific mindset, especially a millionaire mindset. I was prepared more to become an employee at home and at school and university than an employer. I had to catch up with that knowledge later on in life.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Following my gut feeling, creating the right environment for growth, and being selective about people with whom I spend my time cultivating a positive mindset and developing consciousness.

What keeps you going when things get tough?

The practice of gratitude and reminding myself of what I already have keeps me going. Reminding myself of my strengths and more difficult situations in life that I overcame.

Any message for our readers.

Recently I got very much inspired to learn from animals, thanks to Melanie Appleyard, who explains lessons to be learned from animals beautifully, along with the importance of mental health. I would like to recommend a lesson from a giraffe – stand tall in your own personality, look at things from a perspective, be graceful and look at the bigger picture to make you feel happy and confident.

How can people connect with you?

The best way to get connected is via LinkedIn, Instagram or drop an e-mail.

Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
