Today, we are interviewing Chris Varkpeh, 25-Year-old CEO of Avanti.
Avanti is a Fitness, Health, and Wellness company that helps people truly feel good about themselves. Their mission is to change the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of everyone.
How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?
I got into Avanti because, at first, I wanted to truly share my passion for changing lives and inspiring people. I truly got into fitness around 13 years old. I immediately got addicted because I loved how it made me feel, and that passion carried me through all of high school. After high school and my first year into college, I fell off from exercise like that because I got so preoccupied with working and being in college. My first job at the time was Chipotle, and I was sold on the idea that if you truly dedicate yourself, you can be anything you wanted to be. Thus started my “workaholic” nature. I wanted to become a manager so bad for the simple fact that I could help people grow, whether it was inside or outside of work. After some time, I started to miss actual physical exercise. I felt like I was trying to fill a void that I couldn't fill. I told myself that I was “too busy” or “didn't have enough time” when in reality, I was just making excuses just because I didn't want to put in that extra effort. It took many years to get back into the gym, and one day something clicked and thought to myself,” I truly cannot be the only person that feels this way.
Who are your role models?
My role models are My Mother, Shawn Carter, Mike Jackson, and Eric Thomas.
What inspires you?
What inspires me is that what I am doing is that I am in the position to not only change lives but help people start loving themselves again. When I'm able to help people reach their goals and start looking at themselves differently, it's my motivation to keep going.
Please tell us about your company.
My company is Avanti, and we are life-changers. We offer adaptive fitness plans, vegan smoothies, essential oils, fragrances, antibacterial scented soaps, and of course, merchandise.
The Fitness Plans help you reach your goals, essential oils help take care of your skin and muscles. Vegan smoothies are an excellent addition to everyday exercise and dieting. The Fragrances and merchandise help you look and feel good. There is a saying when you look good, you feel good. We are in business to do a complete lifestyle change.
What's your most memorable experience?
My most memorable experience is currently still happening, and that is watching my team grow. Who they started out as and who they have been growing to be is by far my favorite among many things.
Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?
We use Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. On all of them, we should consider a lifestyle. That lifestyle is highly intriguing because there are so many people that want to change their lives and don't know what to do or who to talk to. We not only just post-workout, but we post a lot of the things that we offer, and that has proven to give us much success.
What's your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is expanding too fast. With rapid expansion, even the most well-put together plan can crumble.
Looking back, what's one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?
I wish I understand that getting to this business is how things like these can turn people against you. Whether you are close friends or just business associates, you have to be very aware of who you let in your circle, your business, or your thoughts. Any mistake can knock you off of your course.
What keeps you going when things get tough?
What keeps me going is my vision for my company. The more I work towards it, the more it seems achievable. I am a firm believer that anybody can achieve anything if they truly dedicate themselves to it.
Any message for our readers.
My message to the people that view this is never to give up on anything that is truly in your heart, and that can be applied to anything in life. Something's might be harder than others, but if you truly want it, go get it, no one's stopping you but you.
How can people connect with you?
