Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Captain Robert “Fly” Navarro, a professional fisherman, owner of FlyZone Fishing LLC, and author of ‘Best Catch 2020.’
Please tell us about what it is that you do.
I travel all over the world, helping people promote fishing destinations and events. I have been doing it for 30 years. I have recently become an author and published the book ‘Best Catch 2020‘ highlighting the top 60 tournaments in North America.
Can you please tell us more about your journey?
I started fishing for a living when I was 18 years old. My fishing career has taken me all throughout Central and South America, the Middle East, the far east, and even the great barrier reef. Within the last six years, I created my company Fly Zone Fishing LLC. I helped promote wonderful Sportfishing around the globe.
Please tell us about your book ‘Best Catch 2020.’
I am a first-time author. We decided to create ‘Best Catch 2020’ to highlight some of the top tournaments in North America. We have added over 10 million new fishermen in the USA since the beginning of Covid. We felt that this would be a good opportunity to highlight the events that bring us fishermen together. This book lends itself perfectly to my marketing and promotion company. As we are constantly working on getting interest levels up in the field of recreational sport fishing.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I would have to say the biggest strategy that I’ve used while creating this book and my social media marketing company is that I have followed my passion. Growing up, my passion has always been fishing. Still, as I’ve gotten older, I would have to say my passion is to share the sport of fishing with his many people as possible.

The biggest message I would like to share with all of you is the amount of effort that went into creating this book, not just from me as an author but also from all the different tournaments and organizations that contributed to this book. Telling their stories and sharing their passion with everybody.
